Keyo 47 Posted May 31, 2021 (edited) Had to look twice at the price of this Mk2 16v at 35 k but then saw the mileage. Would love a smell of that cabin. Always seems to be slimey dealers that get their hands on these car - must be approached by family members in most cases to sell on behalf of an older relative- they make shit loads on them and do fook all to them. In this case it does say the garage that is selling it serviced it for 28 years- I suppose the selleres sometimes dont want to deal with the VW jealous haters. and tyre kickers. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202105283211064?advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=Pl143tx&model=GOLF&page=1&aggregatedTrim=GTI&price-from=25000&make=VOLKSWAGEN&include-delivery-option=on&sort=relevance&fbclid=IwAR2rkAKnPtFtLAlo75jCLrmnyWQfRcPKfQ1-fs6TiCJ2f_SKvrKCXdH5zQQ Edited May 31, 2021 by Keyo

Keyo 47 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) Bar the poverty spec interior this looks a great honest low mileage VR . I would dread to think how cheap the dealer got it for - the alarm bells read description key words- old lady owned over three decades - sold to us when passed away . Has the magic in the centre console Cubby. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284468922426?hash=item423bab483a:g:1XEAAOSwKAFhU2fr Edited October 4, 2021 by Keyo

Cressa 44 Posted October 4, 2021 That is a very nice looking Corrado. But will need a lot of the horrible jobs doing, like the heater matrix and airbox flaps. I would still have it though.
Keyo 47 Posted October 24, 2021 (edited) Another CO Part car - but with recaro and audioscapes , 16 speedline corse and who knows maybe cubby gauges- vsr - very nice colour combo. So this is a good example of how the Insurance companies have become Americanised by Co Part influence. As you can see it says clean title. So the cars last owner would of had a pay out. If you look at the fees co part will make around 550 from car fee and 100 membership fee to bid and other costs you will be charged. Its a new strategy now where they do not write off minor damage as a cat so hold good auction value Moral of the story if you like your car never let a tow truck after an accident take it to what the driver would describe as a police locked compound - always say take it home if they disagree tell them no and insist to be taken back to your home - its your policy and car its your decison not theirs but they will try it on with you- make sure where the car goes you go ! You will get a much better pay out form the insurance company and be in control of your joy/asset rare parts - if you let it get towed away you can kiss your car and rare bits good bye. As you can see hardly nowt wrong with this to end up in such a place- proper con. Also to note this is the second rado stolen in 2 weeks . Its quite clear they are taking none cat cars off the owners and making money out of them - seems a bit of a shit show from where I'm sitting. Estimated at 6 k - and 1 k fees by the time they are done with you - dont even show the reg so you have to use their inhouse hpi at a cost. Does anyone recognise the car- some of the parts have been colour coded . https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/61161501/clean-title-1994-volkswagen-corrado-vr-bristol Edited October 24, 2021 by Keyo
fendervg 32 Posted October 24, 2021 I think the moral of the story is never, ever give your car to the insurance company or let them tow anywhere except your home or mechanic of your choice. If they want to inspect the car, let them come to it, or if they insist on doing it at their facility, make sure you escort the car there and back. There is a real trend now of insurers making double their payout back in one way or another, and the poor sod who has lost their car is left at a loss. Yes that is about as simple as it gets- be warned some of these tow drivers are very pushy and do what is good for them and not for you, so make sure they understand actually on this occasion it will be good for them if they follow your request- be prepared to bring in your own tow if they refuse- remember your in a great position to buy your car back (salvage rights) if on the drive and also saves a fork lift truck pushing round the yard and fighting for your property to be returned. Mileage - and maybe some more photos of the car would be great to see what else rare gems she might be hiding. I would say the car has had a paint job to - missing side trims- looks like dust to me and rain water channels - it looks far to goof for them to have - i cant see no fontal damage either just a missing grill - its almost like they have purchased the car from somewhere rather then an incident occurring. . Holy god, that’s some treasure trove of Corrado parts - sounds like they were all seized. Maybe the old thing about the Corrado being a drug dealer’s car is actually true! From what was said the guy was vulnerable and was preyed upon by dealers I think? the red ones in plain view have rub strips so can’t be that one
Keyo 47 Posted October 25, 2021 (edited) Could well be the case was owned by an innocent purchaser even for years and a police check or mot realised it was stolen - it doesn’t look like a stolen recovery as no damage but the drivers window is smashed or rolled down I think - maybe towed off with no insurance and never reclaimed 🤔 perhaps it got stolen and towed 2 hrs away to these lot and the insurance company made it horrendous for the owner to get it back . Anyone know of the car ???? Edited October 25, 2021 by Keyo
Dox 23 Posted October 25, 2021 There's no indication of mileage, or if the car runs, no open bonnet pics etc I'd base any valuation on the being nothing under the bonnet of any value TBH The first obscured letter is an A?

Keyo 47 Posted October 25, 2021 Agreed I’m not sure they will even let you visit the yard - Health and safety and all that - disgrace they have not got a picture of the engine bay - I imagine the bonnet cable is snapped with the missing grill . Keyo 47 Posted October 25, 2021 (edited) So i just got off the phone from co part for the craic. The facts I could obtain and nothing else. They will not give registration number/mileage unless you are a member, The car was stolen and the cabling is hanging out the fuse box and is a none runner. The car comes with keys but no logbook or dealer books. the bonnet will not open hence no picture, They do not allow viewings at present. You can have a whatsap viewing 1 to 1 on video chat however its a £10.00 fee and need to pay £100.00 membership fee first. There is no cost to bid when a member however the commission on 6 k would be around £650.00 inclusive of Vat. £40.00 collection arrangement fee- you will have your tow fee as well from whoever you use. So I would estimate fees around the 1 k with including tow fee. So a 6 k car will cost you 7k to get it on the drive. . Everything is set up there really to get a £100 membership fee off window shoppers. Edited October 25, 2021 by Keyo
