warcraft 0 Posted September 20, 2004 my car got hit this evening by a Focus WRC car. well a Focus WRC car on a trailer anyways. i was in the nearside lane, and they squeezed me into the kerb. needs 3 new alloys n tyres (so easier an cheaper to get a whole new set) new wing new rubbing strips new side repeaters new bumper tracking and the suspension needs looking at (prob nowt wrong, but i want it checked) oh and paint for some of the above. And i want the colour matching perfect. lets just say im not too happy atm

Jim 2 Posted September 20, 2004 This could be the final nail in the coffin for the Ford WRC team.. I thought they were looking at backing out from the end of this season, but with a Corrado repair bill on the way it could be a LOT sooner than that ;) :D ;) Seriously though - I hope they pay out without ANY agro at all mate - good luck getting your Rado all ship shape again. dr_mat 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Actually they might offer to fix it themselves! It'll be ready in 2 minutes 32.0072 seconds. :)
Jim 2 Posted September 20, 2004 Heh.. that is, if the Welsh police don't pull them over on the shakedown test or on the way to service ;)

Guest Posted September 21, 2004 mine has exactly the same wing damage as yours, after someone hit him when he was parked up for the night :( hope you get it fixed mate, at least you don't have to pay for the damage (like I do :()
warcraft 0 Posted September 21, 2004 took it for quotes today. one garage (not a cheap one either) was saying they wudnt replace the wings but repair them with filler !!!!!!!! I didnt spend a small fortune on one of the best corrados i cud find so the wings cud have filler put on them.
Mike Edwards 0 Posted September 22, 2004 It looks like the front suspension is bent in the pics...
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 22, 2004 That Focus looks more like a Privateer job than the Ford works WRC car....... still looks damn good tho! I like the Focus
coullstar 0 Posted September 22, 2004 That Focus looks more like a Privateer job than the Ford works WRC car....... still looks damn good tho! I like the Focus  I was thinkin it was one of those mock up cars that look like the real thing but have no mechanicals etc. Wheels are just white OZ's and the brakes look too small + why would it be in tarmac spec for a forest rally? ben16v 0 Posted September 22, 2004 yeah possibly like a promotional car, dont rally cars have to be road legal ie have a number plate on? still they`re gonna have to pay!
Eug 0 Posted September 23, 2004 Sorry to hear about the unfortunate  Never liked those hocus Focuses. Dude - you gots to get you some bigger wheels ! Fancy some 17" polished TT alloys ...
warcraft 0 Posted September 23, 2004 the focus had been used for promotional work advertising the rally. Dude - you gots to get you some bigger wheels ! Fancy some 17" polished TT alloys ... nah. 16's are where its at. big enuff to look good, small enuff not to adversely affect the handling It looks like the front suspension is bent in the pics... well the camber is certainly out. had some quotes now. (not including the wheels) repair wings and bumper, repaint etc - £1000 or replace bumper and wings, repaint etc - £1863 this is also subject to further costs if there is suspension damage. the wheels are no longer available  replacement cost of those (inc tyres) is £
Geo 0 Posted September 23, 2004 That wing would repair just fine with filler. You'd never be able to tell the difference, much better to do that than have the wing replaced and possibly have alignment issues with it later on etc.... At the end of the day the garage is doing these kind of repairs all the time they should know what is and isn't possible.
warcraft 0 Posted September 23, 2004 yes i know it wud repair fine, however i didnt spend as much as i did on one of the best vr6's i cud find just so as it cud have filler put on it.
