  1. here a graph of that dyno, remember this is wheel horse power which is moer at the crank like usual dyno do,this is the real power that matters. Bilal you have to burn me some mad chip man when we fit the 3.5 fpr  .

  2. Had a trip to meet Bilal from SNS for a few tweeks on my car. Recently i finished my intercooler install. Car has stock internals,68mm pulley rsr outlet, decat with 2.5 maybe 3 inch pipe, chip, ported charger, rsr outlet. I dont know what boost im runing and have a stock fuel pressure regulator which i think was making me struggle to squezze some more power. Car run 181 whp @5800 rpm and 189 lb/ft @4000 rpm of torque which we thought was a good result. The mystery thing was that the car was making power till 5800rpm rising when the 8v head is said to loose flow at 5.4-5.6 rpm, i guess that ic helps :p ,i will be headed to Bilal again to put my 3.5 fpr and a air fuel gauge and see any improvments we can make (maybe throw in a cam and 65mm pulley). I had a ride in Bilals Golf Raylle and its the bomb baby, the pull in 1 and 2 gear is amaizing as there is 0 wheelspin i love that car, lets not talk about the big bottle he has  . Bilal really knows his stuff and addicted to go back to him as i need more power. After all shows that something went well with the corrado as there is always something bothering you (oh but i forgot to mention i didnt have power steering so not everything went well  )

  3. I changed my timing to 8 degree with help of alex, car runs smoth and pulls strong. Before was runing like crap and the fuel economy was horrible, everytime i used to drop gear it used to pop loudly (timing was retarted somwhere in the negative mark crazy  ). What timing to you guys run and why, where do you gain the power?

  4. darren these are the other 2 pics i have at the moment, that is a rallye or rsr outlet which i got from sls tuning,i ported the fins and polished it myself,it has a 45 degree angle so made things easier, also its diameter is big enough so even on and ported charger it will fit nice. The other blue hose is a 76-68mm reducer 90 degree bend (you told me 130 degree but the guy didnt have it and told me to wait 4 weeks lol). Was really hard to get the pipe hrough the front lower cross bar and the upper bar. I manage to clear the radiator by moving it to the last hole but on the left side of the rad mound there is no mount so you have to drill. On the other side of the ic i used a 130 degree 68mm samco hose so i bend the air up and conected it to a steel straight tube than from there to the pastic boost stock pipe as i could be bothered to make a steel one cuz the co pot was on the way. its hard to get pics now as i have the bumper on but when i take it off to paint i take some more. Ps my powersterring still aint working man,i have turned full locks many times but damn thing aint working but my arms feel stronger  .

  5. got it from porscheapart and it cost me about £150,dunno how easy it will be to do it with the stock bumper though as its quite tall and wide, even with my bumper i had to do few cutings but its an ideal position as it gets as much air as possible bing in that location and that rs4 bumper its just made for it

  6. here is a few pics of my new intercooler, took lots of thinkin  and cursin but at the end its done,i like the looks and keeps cool even when car is standing still and working unlike the old ic which used to get hot and heatsoaked, havent really tested its limits as im still finishing the rest of the engine but it pulls good especially on high speeds you can feel it better. Still got to get that front bumper sprayed though but so far aint going bad. Any thoughts or opinions welcome.

  7. I was puting my big intercooler in the front of the car and the power steering cooling pipe was on the way so i had to cut it a bit on the side in order to move it back. I did all the cuting and clmaped everything, reflushed the pwstering liquid with new, turn the car on and steering feels hard,i checked if i had siezed the tube somewhere but still no joy. When flushing the old liquid i turned the car for a few seconds in order to get all the liquid out so the pump was runing empty,is it possible that i burned the pump? it dosent make any noises at all though so im kinda confused. Any tips to where the problem might be is much appreciated and boy that front intercooler makes a difference i can tell you,the boost build up is so quick as teh piping is much shorter and with fewer bends. rgds

  8. if you have spend some cash on your car and dont wanna sell it than id consider on looking in 16vturbo kits, they give serious performance if done right, you talking about 300-350hp but it all depends on how much you want to spend and how much power you want but think well before you sell.

  9. i have seen up to 280-300hp with stock botom

over 17-18 psi you be better changing injectors

For parts there are various companies in uk also germany.

The charger is something that should be taken care of as theengine in runs strong.

  10. Ah you guys got me tired now,You can say all you want. I bought a G60 cuz of the price and the freedom the car gives you to tune with the possibility of not spending huge amounts. Now unlike some of you Vr owners i like to work on the car myself and really feel the car in everysingle way, tuning a car is a passion. My g60 will take any VR6 corrado unless turbo or s/charged when im finishing what im doing now,and you could keep on dreaming boys as all you see is my tinted lights and my big ass G60 fading away :p . When i bought the G60 i knew it was slower than VR but i knew it was capable. Why some of you guys so arrogant,i never put the VR6 engine down, but keep in mind we have a price barrier here.

Ps VR6 can YOU read properly-i didnt say you need an engine rebuilt every 40k i said a charger service.

  11.

Hardly a VR6 destroyer, a similar output perhaps. Try and keep things in perspective

Marginally cheaper insurance. What happens when all the G Laders are used up? Cheaper to run? most of my mates get less mpg from their G60s than I do my VR6 and how much are G60 spark plugs?

The VR6 is still in production, albeit in 24V form but the G60 had a very short life span by comparison....I wonder why?

Says who? Have you driven a VR6?

Wrong. The G60 weighs 1155Kg and the VR weighs 1210Kg.

The fact Corrados have a heavy engine means nothing in the real world and people grossly exaggerate the affect this has on the VR's handling. Next you'll be saying a Porsche 911 is a bad handler because most of it's weight is over the rear wheels! It isn't, so pay attention to reality and not urban myths.

They're hardly what I'd class as tuning. They're just bolt on bits that make more noise and give little extra power. Most discerning motorists realised that years ago.

    Kev

    94 VR6

A healthy G60 with a 65mm pulley and ported charger chip and cam would whoop a VR6 ass no doubt :p

Group 16 and group 18 that VR6 has isnt marginally specially for young drivers below 25. G laders are produced in germany still not continous but they are produced enough to keep costumers demands. A charger would last at least 40k so thats pretty good and with servicing should run nice.

G60 spark plugs are £40 but they last 2-3 years. My freind G6016v engine was the first to hit 210hp from when g60 came out untill the realease of the r32.

I havent driven a VR6 but from what I have heard g60 handle better.

SO you telling me 55kg more on the front wont make a difference in handling?HUH

I was talking about things like air induction exhaust system and things like this, Hm so puting a better exhaust system to optimise flow its not tuning Right.

The point here is that G60 are already built for forced induction and they will handle tuning to some extent. People run 280-300hp with stock internals on g60. I say this again Vr arent tunabale unless you thow loads of cash at it to go tuning the whole engine internals otherwise you wont go pass 260hp with a charger on it.

  12. i dunno lowG... i paid 3 times what you said a rebuild would be and i went to the cheapest place on the continent. (also the best :thumb right: ) just rebuild with no porting would be twice as much as you said at least. but i'd port it if you've got the cash, i get almost the same psi at half the rpm as before (11psi@3000rpm vs. 12psi@6000rpm before porting).

i payed that for a new charger ported with chip and pulley :p:p
