  1. I have a few questions about the whole G60 vs VR6 deal..in advance, I'm new to these cars, but I'm learning ;)

     

    First of all: So is it realistically cheaper to buy a G60 and tune it to get a car with the same or better performance as a VR6 for the same amount of money(as you would pay for a G60 + tuning)?

     

    2nd: Are there any physical appearance differences between the G60's and VR6's?

     

    I'm currently searching for a C, but mind you, I'm in the US, so gear comments accordingly please :shock:

    If you find a G60 in decent condition and with good history you can. You need to find out the charger history nad if it needs a rebuild you do it thats about $300-400 with a 68 or 65 mm pulley a chip for $100,cam for about $300 and you have a VR6 destroyer. You have cheaper insurance,more parts availabe for g60 cheaper to run. And the list of tuning can go on and on on teh g60 without going to crazy on the budged. G60 is also known to have better handling as it has a 150kg if im correct weight advantage than VR6 and front nose is lighter which gives it a nicer weight distributiion. Most G60 are already tuned in some form like exhaust systems air inductions and so on which are little things which you can benefit from.


  2. lol not this again,now if you a wise man you would do what stormer did sold his vr got himself a g60 :D they lighter anyway Ill tell you that you wont get to 13 with that charger only. Iv seen a 290 hp supercharged vr6 with 6 speen geaboox and struggled on 14.24 secs so this just gives you an idea of how much work is involved but there are VR which run 10 seconds

    That's correct, all you need in a G60 is a K&N air filter and it'll completely obliterate a VR6. In fact, the G60 is so much faster, I'm trading my VR6 tomorrow :D

  4. well if you have a vr and you want to tune with a charger and vsr i say dont bother,if you have that much money to spend id get a nice turbo with a short log manifold,front intercooler porsche 944,ported to 3.1l forged pistons balanced crank and all the forged goddies,stand alone fuel managment ported head and so on. I bet for a nice 6 grand one can build up a 400-500hp vr turbo,that is if you do the work yourself in your own garage,maybe some day :?

    Yes it can be with little cash,G60 are more tunable than VR6 up to a certain point for us normal G60 lovers but then if you take it to the extreme the VR6 can be turbo but the luck you will find a VR6 turbo is very slim as they expensive so most moded G60 are quicker than VR6's but all depends what youv done to it.


  6. A VR should easily take the 16v mr2. Some very light moded G60's and properly sorted will make a VR look silly though,remember that g60 are almost 11yrs now and they still keeping it 8)


  7. is different when you drive a car cuz you like it and when you drive one cuz you have to conditions ect. I drive a Corrado cuz i like it I also drive other cars but i dont really care about them like i do for the c,there is quite e bit of difference froma saxo and G60 plus the image that those cars have thats why we say what we say.


  8. Just got hammered by a god forsaken SAXO that was 4 up!

    Off at the lights for a straight up hill sprint, could'nt keep up with him. I definitely need to get my G60 sorted its embarrasing.

    you must have something wrong with your car like a boost leak or sumthin,check it out,but yea a saxo is a piece of crap even if they beat a g60. :p


  9. just instaled the platinum bosch plugs £10 a piece and i can say the car is rev happy,what a difference,thanks to all you as i was gonna blow my engine if i had them shi##y plugs in there for bit longer,measured my cheap plugs with platos and the platos are shorter and the electrode is much finer,the guys that sold me the cheap pair said to me that they were fine,im gonna take the old 1nes back to them f-in liers. will set my co pot to 450 ohms as some people have suggested,is this the right resistance? rgds

  10. i bought a par of plugs,cheap ones,do i need to gap them?if so what do you gap?I can hardly rev above 4krpm,is this a sign cuz of the plugs?I heard about ecu reseting how can this be done? Im realy confused as why the car is so slow on pulling above 4.5krpm,could some1 give a few points to check. rgds

  11. i recon you can find better wheels than the first and second picture,first one will not suit the C at all,its to revealing second is a bit better but there are still much better ones,keep checkin.

    G60 what F1 cars are you talking about? 1000hp per cylinder? and 100ps1 of boost? I dont know which F1 cars u thinking but nowdays F1 cars are V12 engines 3L dissplacment and they are normally aspired.


  13. the front spoiler seats about 1.5 cm off the ground,the rear wheels are hiden in the arch. Trust me it was really low but that pic isnt that clear,but now with the RS4 front bumper and with 17 its a bit higher as i dont wanna damage anything but its still low,no point to go too low in my opinion,80mm is about max you need.

    for real man,I aint got no clue what they talking about :roll: i aint got no idea of any of them songs. I listen to rap hip hop,like snoop shizzle,2pac dmx, NAS,SHyne and lot more
