    AUDI TT ?

Don't get a titty whatever you do. They're like arseholes-everyone has one. If you wnat to stick to the VAG stable, then may I suggest an S4? 2.7litre bi-turbo and 265bhp outta the box-chipped and your easily pushing 300brake and very understated,looks-wise. Running costs(as with most Audis  ) are a bit pricey-I just got stung for £200 to fit two new rear tyres(Dunlop SP9000) on my S3. But out of your list,I would have the TVR every time. 8)
  2. Big empty car park+6inches of fresh snow+Audi S3 with 225bhp+Quattro=        :-P :-P :-P Even managed to get a four wheel doughnut going! Try that in the Corrado and I would've been put into a wall.
  3. Friday night, a dark green VR parked facing down Cockburn street in Edinburgh and a red C pulling out of a side road onto Corstorphine road at around ten this morning-think it either had an N.Irish plate or a private one something like 1074 and some letters or something.
  4. Necksnapper! 8) I had to watch that twice before I could quite believe it was a real BMW and not some production from messr. Spielberg & co.
  5. Dunno about you,but this makes me wanna go out and buy an R/C car so I can fit it under this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-ABS-CORRADO-BODY-1-10th-scale-shell-Tamiya-HPI_W0QQitemZ6004423986QQcategoryZ2565QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 8)

    ARP Head bolts

So now that I've decided to get my arse in gear and do something with my G60(cos it's been stood in the parents garage, neglected, with the bonnet up for around 5 months now) the likliehood of having to remove the head is cropping up. If I do,I'd want to replace the headbolts with ARP ones but I've heard about different opinions on them. Any good,or not?
  7. That is cucking fool. I'd love one of them to terrorise the local boyracers. If I didn't have VAG then I would probably have bought into Vauxhall/GM with a Lotus Carlton and by now I'd probably be into an Astra VXR or Monaro-the 500bhp one. Or if money was no object, then a TVR Cerbera in that bronze colour,or a RUF porxche would be on the list-oh,and not forgetting an Aston V12 vantage. 8)

  9. That thing's barely under control, even in a straight line! What would be even funnier is if the driver got out wearing a cap and smoking a pipe whilst wondering where his caravan had gone.
  10. Nuthin. And haven't done anything with it since about, ohhhhhh, september. That's lie.I actually ordered me a compression tester to check for any HG problem.
  11. Jeez thats nasty.Hope your okay, though. Did this happen on monday around noon-ish? Just wondering cos I spotted a Corrado very, very similar to yours just outside Glasgow on the M8 around that time. [:pirate: mode on]P.S. can I have the interior?[:pirate: mode off]
  12. Was in the central belt today and saw 2 Corrado's-A first for me! Both spotted on the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The first was at around 1115 this morning and was a dark coloured-poss green or black-VR heading towards Edinburgh.VV nice and shiny. The second was an N reg (possibly ending in ASX) Bordeaux pearl with 17's on about an hour later just outside Glasgow heading east. I didn't get much detail as they were on the opposite carriageway and, well, I was on a bus. :pale: Ooh,also saw my first new RR Phantom-what a behemoth of a car-and my first Bentley continental GT as well as a couple of Merc SLK's and I'm sure there was an SLR too. I really need to get off this island more..........
  13. Awwww, look, they've managed to find a kiddie seat at last........
  14. Yeah,I got the DVD for Xmas too. I agree that the music is a bit shyte, but then that's problably Clarkson's choice of destrution derby music. The only really amusing bit I thought was the Perodua beating across the road from the dealer-that was funny. As for the rest of it,it just seemed like it was done for his own benefit(i.e. cobbled together from ideas used in TG and filmed at the same location to make a few more bob just in time for Xmas) and that there was no real thought behind it.
  15. Nearly fell of my chair there, cos a waz means something completely different at this end of the country..........:gag:
  16. clickty-boo Read the last paragraph. 8)
  17. S3's ain't that bad. I can get 24-25mpg out of mine on a long-ish drive(or as long as i go round in circles on this island!) no Idea what you would get on a motorway-around 28-30 i reckon. I like S3/S4's cos they are discreet-even more so if you take the badges of 'em and slap on 1.6 or something. I had a blat last week with a Scooby turbo and he was struggling to get past. Go onto http://www.starperformance.co.uk for a table of chip upgrades and prices. I intend to get mine done sometime in the new year. Oh,and don't listen to anyone who will tell you that the 210bhp S3 is inferior to a 225 one-Audi admitted that they lied with the 210-it really is 225. :nono:
  18. I think this one lives in Aberdeenshire now. http://www.eastsidevw.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1066

    Thankyou Guys

Happy chrimbo!:drinking: :x-mas: Hoping to get the mighty C down to you at some point next year,if I can get a trailer,if I can afford it,If I still have a job......
  20. Strangely, the same thing happened on the rear caliper of the Golf. Stupid bloody hex type bolts would not turn and ended up rounding them out-even banged in a larger spline tool and tried that, with no joy. Eventuallt,I had to butcher them with a pair of vice grips that were wound up so tight that they left marks in the studs. Got a couple of high strength stainless steel bolts with normal six-sided head, cut them down to size and re-fitted them instead. Cowboy,me? Naaaaaahhhh. :cowboy: :cowboy: :cowboy: :cowboy: :cowboy: :cowboy: :cowboy: :cowboy: :cowboy:
  21. Spray in loads of WD40 or something and leave to soak overnight. Then try using surface drive sockets(these are the ones that grip the flat of the bolthead, not the corners) and a breaker bar,if you have the room to use one. If you shear the head off,you ain't seen me,right? :cowboy:

    Locked Out!

Shouldn't the key still be able to operate the door lock manually?
  23. Yeah,I phoned them today after realising my mistake and they were happy enough. I may have the accident in the next couple of days.
  24. :? Managed to put my S3 into a ditch this morning, causing god knows how much's-worth of damage. Slid on black ice on a fairly tight left hand bend and went straight into a sloping ditch which was about two foot deep.  The only thing is,that the car has new registration plates on,which I forgot to notify the insurance company about-not realising until today, when I got the certificate out. So,I phoned them up and got the reg changed but will that go against me if I decide to claim the damage off the insurance?

    Help Required

My old man has an X-reg Laguna and the coils all had to be replaced on his-Apparently they are a known failing on Renaults, but for some reason only three were done under warranty. The disc problem sounds a bit suss-but again the Laguna has just had new ones fitted at 60,000 miles and the dealer reckoned that this was normal wear for Renault discs,so I would take the car to another dealer or a specialist and get them to check the discs. Hope this helps.
