Its the small things...... Fabric taped the bonnet prop to protect the metal.

Wee Father's Day morning on the VR. Full wash down and then blowdried using my Titan blower which saves using microfibres which could cause scratching. Great piece of kit from Screwfix for around £60, it's a wet and dry vac but can be used as a blower. Full car clay barred and a good coat of Collinite 476, no polish as its got a Ceramic coating. Then got the Solution Finish out and treated the roof rails, door handles and bump strips and they look excellent. Popped the Original mats in and put the rubbers and spare carpet mats in the loft.

Thanks a lot lads I appreciate it

That's great Robin, I'm sorry I forgot to text you again about them :bonk:

Myself and 2 buddies all paid without postage. Thought I would share as I have seen sets going for upto £120.

I was just considering it

So now got 2 brand new sets of Original mats and also ordered a new spare bonnet cable from Easypops.
-
Yes they arrived today as well. That's a nice wee collection of parts you have there

Wonder how you found out about those mats
-
All paid thanks very much :thumbleft:

Hi I will take the last one please. Cheers

Just spotted 3 sets of new original carpet mats for sale, so messaged a couple of the forum lads and we all bought a set each. Sold my spare rubber mats and rear spacers last week. Only a few weeks til I get the custom stainless exhaust fitted and I think I will get it a bit louder than I would usually choose ?? Also wondering if I should try and get a black tailpipe ??

Car looks great sitting on the RS's :thumbleft:

Car looks great. I have that Solution Finish as well and used it on the roof rails, I need to do them properly and the rest of the black bits as its superb.

Top quality work Kenny and if your ever idle, I will have the same please
-
I am def coming to camp on the Sat night and hopefully for the Friday as well. There are 2 others that I know heading down from up here for both nights.

As I have VCDS I ran a fault scan and the car is fault free. I had bought the early cable from Ross Tech but it has the newer obd port so never needed it. Think I may well sell the car but I have no idea why and everyone is telling me to stop being so bl**dy stupid, I will think it over.

Just got my gear out for tomorrow after work, just to do 10 miles a few times this week, to get the sore bum out of the way. Then get the road bike out for some miles.
-
The price will be the price if I come to sell it, I'm not daft and realise that nobody ever recoups their money but you always have to pay for quality  I will decide soon enough. Cheers

I've chilled a bit too as I used to organise the Scottish region of the mk1 owners club. I want to do more hill walking and cycling as my belly is getting bigger and enjoyed climbing my first Munro last month.
-
Cheers Robin. Nice meeting you today and I hope the mats are okay. I just take mad turns at times, that's how I've sold my 4 mk1 Golfs, all spur of the moment decisions as if you think about things too long you won't ever sell.
-
Don't ask but I'm thinking of selling the car. Obviously it's nothing to do with the actual car or anything really but although I have enjoyed making it look as good as it does now, I'm just not getting much chance to use it and for whatever reason I feel like I'm moving away from the classic scene ?????? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ???????????? Decisions decisions.
