  1. Nothing from Vw - obsolete. Going to try the Veedubbed method above. It's so sticky the car holds onto revs as the throttle slowly closes. Fingers crossed - if not I'll be in touch veedubbed! Cheers

  2. Folks - I have carried out a few searches to try and work out what is happening with my "new" G60.

I plan on using it daily so i am keen that it keeps itself cool.

On the way to work this morning (a roads mainly) it looks like the water temp effectively mirrors the water temp if that makes sense.

Water gauge at just under 100 and the oil temp from computer around 98 or so.

I have read a few tips (on other threads) which I plan on trying like

    - replace blue temperature sender (perhaps ecu doesnt know what the water temp is?)

    - short radiator fan to see if it works?

    - replace radiator fan switch?

I hope to flush the system and put new coolant in it etc but can I just check

If bottom and top radiator hoses are warm then the thermostat is working?

Also if I run the car with the expansion tank top off should I see a constant flow of water through here even when cold or when up to temp? - I am not sure this is happening so should i be considering water pump (or checking that thermostat is working first?)

Any guide at all as to what sort of order to attack this in would be appreciated.

    many thanks

    paul

  3. Having not done many miles in the Vr6 I have now bought a g60 as a daily - hopefully!

Any ideas on a heavy throttle cable ?

I remember stocks running low at Vw years ago.

Down on eBay I think - anyone found any anywhere else assuming they are not serviceable?

    Many thanks folks

  4. Folks can someone help diagnose? Spoiler works off the switch and speed sensor no probs until I turn side or head lights on , then it goes down (regardless of car speed). If put it up again manually it stays up until I switch headlights off (back to side lights) then it goes back down again. Am I crossing wires behind the dash somewhere????

  5. My cousin has one (56 plate I think). I did consider one before getting the my mk5 golf. St 3 only 2 seats in the back in nice recaro leather but for me with kids it was no use. The st and st2 have 3 back seats but the interiors are horrid. My cousins has a map, inter cooler and exhaust and goes very well. Nice level of performance to be honest if a bit thirsty.

  6. Everyone, after looking for a fuel pump to solve my breakdown issue I found that some were priced at over £100 etc. I contacted this ebay company (Germany based - since they listed plenty of fuel pumps but I did not know if any suited my car) they asked for all details on the car and then provided a quote/invoice and paypal details. In the end I paid £40 delivered and fitted it today and seems to have done the trick. Arrived in approx 3 days.

Hopefully this helps someone. Really good service.

    ATP-spareparts is the seller name.

    Cheers

  7. Where is the pump? Where are you suggesting removing fuel lines? Car won't star per say so will turning it over be enough for this test. Any ideas which relay is for the fuel pump? It's an m plate vr6 so likely the later pump. If I can place eyes on it I'll have a look.

    Thanks again.

  8. Hi everyone, I had the excitement of a breakdown in the corrado yesterday. Hesitant coming out of a roundabout like a big misfire then no revs even though i was pushing throttle. Eventually cut out and won't start now. It will turn over all day but won't start. Sounds like fuel? If so is the pump likely offender, and finally is it a pain to change?

    Many thanks in advance
