  1. Right guys,

Been ages since i last went out in my 'raddo but i've been wanting to sort out an issue that's always been present, ripping up engine and gearbox mounts!

Whats everyone doing to resolve this bloody problem? i'm thinking Vibratech or something similuer but i don't want harse vibes in the cabin.

Suggestions? maybe the old golf ralley had uprated mounts fitted? TDI mounts off a mk3 golf?

  2. Rite then piglets, it's been ages since i last posted here as my 'raddo has been hibernating for years now..

Anyway which one of you kind lot are gonna sell me a spare ribbed drive pulley for a 120amp vr6 alternator??

Here in Italy vr6 corrados just don't exist so i'm stuck!

Let me know if you have.

    Cheers.

  3. What's the difference between Dave's shortshift version and the utterly shiyte 100 euro version i bought off eBay.de?

Worst mod i've ever done on my car and bloody pricy aswell, utter garbage.

I'll be posting you down a spare gearshifter soon mate, can i use PayPal?

  4. Done loads now mate.

First thing, you 9A's fuel pump is ideal,no need to change it,just change the fuel filter and check the fuel press.secondly i wouldn't use the Audi exh.manifold as it's very restrictive and kills top end 'cos the runners are too narrow in diameter compared to cheap eBay steel jobbies, the difference is very noticeable..injectors?,get a set off a scrapped Fiat coupè t.16v,they are 385cc Webers and are perfect.

Injection?, either get hold of a wiring loom from a cosworth sierra or any Lancia delta integrale and modifiy it to fit,the map contained in the original delta eeprom is vertually perfect for our engines anyway.Pistons?,either modifiy your own 9A one's or get a set of forged pistons or double up on head gaskets(ABF steel versions and NOT the fibre crap).Do a double exhaust cam mod and prefrebly a 2.5 or even better full 3" exhaust system and you'll be good to go.

Then start worrying about the gearbox exploding, spinning 1 wheel, having to uprate brakes,suspension,tyres......

  5. Been there with Digifart on my older T.16 2.0 corrado mills.

The 9A white headed water temp.sensor(2pin) will work fine, they are also excellent when using Weber/Marelli injection as i've got now, just don't use the shiyte blue headed Weber sensor,1.8KR Bosch sensor is also ideal but has a bigger thread compared to the 9A 2.0 sensor.

Only chip that was worth fitting was an SNS stg.5 version, all the others are total rubbish,Digilag was awful.

  6. Hi mate,i think your in for a huge amount of work...

I don't think that many mk3 golf bits will fit,Vw passat g60 bits will though, did you ever get any '91/'92 g60 passats in Brazil?.

The mk3 tranny would bolt onto your engine no problem but that's the least of your problems, you'd also need the manual version g60 injection ecu as the auto's version is different.

    Good luck mate!

  7. Er,You paid 700 euro for a fooked part?,your not normal matey, someone has shafted you BIG time!!

I'll post you 1 down to the uk,i'm in Rome.Italy so not exactly round the corner..

The potentiometer is yours for free mate, just make a donation to our lovely forum so we can help keep it alive.

Send me your address and i'll pop 1 in the post for you.

  8. I don't think there are any uprated rods for g60's,i'm probably mistaken but i never use the 136mm rods anyway(turbo 16v 9A 2.0).The only thing to do is re-bush your rods and have done or grab a set of custom forged pistons with 'h' section rods, now it starts gettin expensive.

Crankshaft's got nothing to do with it mate,it's the small ends that change on the rods(22mm on g60 rods,20mm on 9A valvers,8 valve mills etc) as does the length,136mm-g60,144mm-9A.

  9. Yeah, apparently it seems quite common on PG G60 engines although i've had quite a few G60 engines i've never had this problem.

Strange also that those 136mm rods were out of the diesel engine with 20/1 C/R's,if your engine sounds like that motor on the Youtube video i reckon on dropping the sump and head removal, you don't won't what happened to my Fiat engine..

  10. Hmm,sounds suspiciously like small end tap,136mm short con-rods fitted to the g6o can do this.About 15 years ago i had a old Fiat uno turbo 1.3 that had that exact same sound, ended up putting a rod uot through the side of the engine block...,get it looked at mate.

  11. Allrite kev,

    The current spec of my engine is quite powerfull,Garrett BB T4 .63/.70 turbo,forged pistons,inlet-as-exhaust cam mod,7.8/1CR,worked head,ports,valves etc,ARP studs,steel gasket,Tial ext.gate,compleat 3" exhaust,back to front,Mountune gasflowed .63 tubine housing,lsd(Peloquin),Weber/iaw 8 injector set-up running 2.4 Bar boost+100 shot of nitrous oxide using a 150i WON kit.

I've done in a couple of riinforced clutchs so now i'm looking at something serious, possibly even a twin-plate clutch but at 1000+Euro i'm leaving it for now.

Currently i've got a CompetionClutch stg.5 PP+4 puck copper disk but i'm getting fed up with the chatter and harsh engagement.

    Dunno what to buy now...

  12. Right guys,Has anyone ever fitted and used one of the expensive Sachs sports clutchs?.

    Vr turbos?.16T?,re-mapped tdi's?

I'm just wondering if they are worth 600+euro 'cos to me they look like they have the same faults as any other Sachs press. plate,i.e those shit rivits fixing the mech.toghter that can burst/snap.

I see that the weakness on the friction disc has been eliminated(more crap rivits and thin straps as found on F1,SPEC and other eBay garbage).

    Thoughts pleeze.

  13. Right,i ripped the lot out and changed the wiring and now it seems to work,BUT the needle STILL doesn't reach 70L,a few mm's below.

I've already changed the inst.cluster and it's the same so bollx to it,it stays as it is..

  14. Right kiddies, figure this bugger of a problem out...

Right, all of a sudden,on the rare occasions i take my cursed corrado out for a spin, the fuel gauge started to signal only 35 litres on the instrument gauge, even knowing that i'd brimmed the tank.

So i remove the pump and check the float and reostat thing thinking that somehow it's got damaged. After being quoted 380euro for the whole thing new i said bollox to that and nicked a spare pump off a mate.

Here's the weridest thing,if i move the float arm outside the fuel tank along it's scale the gauge works perfectly but as soon as i re-fit the arm onto the pump housing and re insert the lot back into the tank, voilà, the fekker only reads 35l.

I've tried swapping both senders over, nowt, they both work fine OUTSIDE the fuel tank, fit them back inside and they only show 35l on the car's gauge,no matter were i move the float arm in the tank, submersed with fuel.

I've know that there's a full tank cos i can see the fuel through the fuel pump hole on top of the tank and the float arm is were it should be,at the top.

I'm bloodywell stumped, wtf is going on with my bloody car,i'm tempted to drop a match in there...

    Anyone ever had this??.

  15. OT,did you get those switchs i sent you a few weeks back??.

Back OT,i've fitted a few different boxes onto my various 'raddos,i like the used CDM vr6 gearset i fitted along with a Peloquin lsd, good ratios especially on a turboed valver.

It was also very good on my old 16v-g60.
