  1. I don't think you can mate becuase of the electrical wiring but you could have a look...
  2. Probably on it's way out tbh... best get a replacement before your heater matrix explodes!
  3. If you use the enter part number link - stick the original in there and if it supercedes to the new one you can use either... The fault your having (light coming on at speed) sounds like a dirty or distorted wheel rotor but you would expect to get a wheel sensor related fault... Did you clear the faults and re-scan after the light came back? What about the pedal position sensor? Tedb has just changed his becuase of a fault code...
  4. It will work fine when the light is off... What exactly did you get on Vagcom? Have you checked your ABS ECU for corrosion - usually happens if a windscreen has been badly fitted or water gets into the fan housing...
  5. So thats why you need a 5mm washer similar to what the DX bolt uses....
  6. Is that red car in your Avatar an old Capri Eric?
  7. That sounds ok - with the DX bolt you also use a large washer to give it the same length as the shouldered one...
  8. Yeah, eveything comes with the sender so you don't need anything else... just takes a little time to build it up but not long at all...
  9. Do you think you bent it then?? I don't - I reckon the caliper was completly siezed and that did it under hydraulic pressure...
  10. Sorry just re-read that - on ETKA it clearly states you also now need the sender - the parts guy should have seen this and ordered that too... Yeah it's fairly easy, you take one out as a unit and sit it next to the new bits while you build it up to look like the old one, there are a few bits different but you'll see how to connect the wires and the newer plastic fuel hoses, it then just clips back in like the old one (bayonet fitting)
  11. Ah nice one! - maybe it's just the rears you can't get...
  12. Thats incorrect, the new pumps are made by VDo and you'll need a new sender unit to go with... £40 ish
  13. Same part i'm after - looks like it's going to be about £150 ish...
  14. Hmm - another thought - you need to unlock it to get it off the column Have you tried shaking the wheel and key to undo??
  15. Yeah you need to use a (good) 3-legged puller to remove that splined adapter, withfraw the lock housing and drill out the barrel... Is yours an adjustable column? If so I have a brand new lock housing somewhre... you also want to get a new ignition switch while your in there...
  16. You can't tell as the carrier part number is different but like you I suspect the pins are exactly the same...
  17. Potato - have you tried ordering the DX bolt over there as we have no probs ordering US parts here...
  18. Hiya - well your getting somewhere at least... unfortunatly the guide pins come with the carrier (very expensive) and are not available seperatly... you can get the rubber boots tho as a repair kit... I would get the pins from a scrappy - any VW / Seat with those size brakes will do, I know the pins at the rear are different top to bottom but not sure about fronts - bare that in mind tho... Prolly best to get a new caliper too as it's off and maybe new flexi's...
  19. Owen - have a look in the GB section - Gwerks are going one on FK suspension! Silverlines are listed at £399 but I think these are the Highsports not the Konigsport Silverline X's - he may be able to do these tho...

I can't read the 2 posts above on my 20" wideboy but can we all start slagging Kev off now??
  21. Just been reading the excellent (altho i'm sure it's alot more work than it looks!) G-werks FMIC fitment guide (Knowledge Base)... Was wondering if anyone knew if a MKV TDI intercooler would fit, it's roughly the same size as a VR rad (635mm) and the pipe work looks about the same as the one in the guide
  22. Could be a dodgy coil I suppose or maybe just a bad earth...
  23. Bollocks... 536 721 555 (for manual RHD) There are 22 in the country and if you order before 2.30 you should be able to get it for tomorrow am (less discount tho)
  24. Yeah, should be fixable with some solder but then again if its original and off the car you might as well stick a new one on...

    Noisy Miltek

Seems to be normal on the VR6 unfortunatly... KevHaywire had problems with his and actually had it refitted by the factory, they spent all day messing about and it was no better - unbearably boomy noise at 70-80 mph, they fitted a whole brand new system as he was still not happy but it was no different, binned it the next weekend and went back to standard.
