Make sure you also buy carrier bolts and ABS cages! -
That part comes as part of the water guide plate repair kit but not sure if that will fix the problem or not...
-
Just get new exchage calipers from VW / GSF - makes a hell of a difference if the old ones are knackered - they are aout £33 each
-
Passat estate will help moving and buying bits for the new place... MK3 Polo is the G40 shape - cool cars!

Nah, it's just the switch itself, you unplug the electrical connection and the switch sits just behind the barrel, there is a guide to changing it in the knowledge base... It's a git - not difficult but very fiddly... You can test the new switch works tho by just plugging it in and turning with a screwdriver leaving it hanging down, just make sure car is out of gear etc and if you go for a drive make sure you stick the keys in to turn off the steering lock!!!
-
Switch is a good place to start if it's around that area - could also be a loose wire from a dodgy alarm install etc... You should do the switch anyway really as they all fail eventually - make sure you get a genuine black one - 6N Polo part.
-
Ross - have a look when you go in, they usually have a menu of servicing prices and at the bottom brake fluid change - usually about £22 + vat (it's only a 15min job with the kit they have!)
-
Some cheap wrap on eBay at the moment - fibreglass based if thats the same as the thermotec stuff??
-
Which Shrick is it mate, 268??
-
Last time i paid £40+vat an hour... RR time was £50 + vat an hour but best speak to them to confirm, Vince is the daddy!
-
Yalan - nice one, I wondered if that was also an effect, can you explain 'gassing'?
-
There is a point on the clutch slave cyl (on top of gearbox) - won't make any difference to the brakes tho... How did you bleed it?? - if it's drivable it's well worth paying £20 to get it pressure bled at VW etc...
-
ABS will matter because of the hole for the Pedal Position Sensor!
-
Thats not correct - you need the carrriers and the pads, and you also need to mount them on the 'wrong' side due to the edge location of the calipers on the Audi's, you will also need 400mm hoses! You will also find the pads sit over inside the standard G60 discs creating a lip.

Yeah - popular Corrado colour and also used on the Edition One Golfs (that Steve, Mr Pigbladder, has)
-
Timing inspection cover - £2 from VAG
-
VW or VW spares, they should not need the numbers, just order the correct one for your car.
-
Sounds like a static shock - if it was high tension you'd have sworn in the title... :) Check the earth lead on the dizzy and as BC says replace the cap and maybe leads soon if old.

ok so followed it the way nocrap said and everything went ok top banana . i was changing the tank because i was under the impression that the sensor inside had gone as the temperature warning light kept flashing as it does when theres not enough water in. but this light is still flashing what else could it be folks? Try bridging the plug to test, Was it a genuine tank? the pattern ones are useless... If not the tank then you need to look at the fusebox to check nothing has fallen out.

VR no start - Is it starter motor or most likely what else?
Supercharged replied to snattrass's topic in Engine Bay
Simon, could be alot of things but a fairly easy problem for a garage to diagnose if it's not going at all, obviously cost depends on what it is and we need more info to attempt to give advice.... Why do you want to buy a non runner 300 miles away??? it may seem cheap but also be aware that if the owner has not bothered to fix it there may be all sorts of things that need doing and also if it's not been run for a year there will be other problems like seized brakes, dead battery, flat spotted tyres etc unless it has been stored properly... not trying to put you off but a cheap car can turn into a money pit, normally we advise people to get the best they can afford... -
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hamp ... 493713.stm WTF!?!

The Passat thing is a common misconception - it's a MK2 GTi rear beam on 4cyl Corrado's (base suspension) and a MK3 GTi on the VR6 (plus axle)
-
Have you had a clutch change recently or a mobile phone hands free kit fitted?
-
Have you fitted, VR gearbox and clocks???
