Help: What's this part I have? Identify please. Pix added!
Supercharged replied to snattrass's topic in General Car Chat
Sounds like the safety bypass valves - not needed if you fit a mk3 Matrix. -
Fuse! 21 I think - MFA and boot light - must have fooked it when fitting the rears... I wouldn't use them again if he couldn't diagnose that after you took it back!

Edition 38 seller - takes the money and then asks for more
Supercharged replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
Something else will come along Andy - hopefully the mods on there will ban him but i'm not sure how that forum works as i've never been able to get registered despite several emails to the admins... What is the guys user name Andy? we will make sure he's not registered on here... -
What car?? Very early corrado's use 350mm hoses with both female ends with a solid pipe coming off the caliper and the hose connection at the bottom of the wing. All later cars (1990 on I think) use a male to female hose 435mm long with a grommet to clip onto the suspension strut. Have a look at the pics on vwspares for clarification

Thats completly out of order, this is exactly why we have the fixed price rule on here and all negotiations within the thread. -
May well be the solenoid sticking in this weather - if it happens again hit it with a large bar... Also consider the ignition switch or a faulty FP or ECU relay.

They are not OEM tho - VW use SKF or INA usually (Rear bearings are SKF) FAG are about as good as your going to get tho for a pattern part!

It's not meant to be adjusted but you an get 'correction' shims, Vince at Stealth Racing has a stock of these...

Brake pedal has excessive travel after fitting MK4 rear cali
Supercharged replied to corrado g's topic in Drivetrain
May be a problem if you have got air into the ABS system - are you pressure bleeding? With the mk4's you need bleed then pump the pedal about 50 times, connect the handbrake and bleed again, pedal should feel ok and get better after they're bedded in and handbrake will be excellent! -
Yep, Tempests G60 has AC and Cruise... not sure about 94 tho, G60's were not built from the end of 92

LOL - this worries me as I have been looking at MK4's to replace my mums mk3 and i'd assumed they were still 'new' enough not to have been fooked around with but they are nearly 10 years old now... -

As Mat says it's 'sold as seen' - especially with no receipt but he must have removed the locking wheel nuts and to sell a car like this as roadworthy and let someone drive off in it deserves a good kicking at the very least... -

Bonkers - especially on a mk4! there are some idiots about... Whats the problem with the shock then? why won't it go in?? -
G60 power steering belt - Mondays stupid question
Supercharged replied to Andy665's topic in Drivetrain
There are 4 bolts you need to loosen then use a soft faced mallet to move the pump along it's bracket - 3 are fairly obvious but one is kind of hidden inside the bracket that holds the pump - you don't need to take the pulley off! Hopefully you've got the right size gates belt - 663mm as GSF and ECP both still sell a 650 for a G60 that doesn't fit despite me telling both companies about this! -
Alonsos tactics - legal but not exactly sporting
Supercharged replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
I would think so yeah - I know what your saying but they are trying to show that behavior like that will not be tollerated... Anyways, not sure how relevent this all is as F1 is still one of the most corrupt sports out there... -

Supercharged replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
Exactly, Tom - this very thread is the reason they felt the need to do something - it's uncalled for and it doesn't set a very good example to kids etc Yep, it's great that Hamilton entered F1 just as Shu left - completly refreshed my interest in the sport! -
Talking of MK6 Golfs, this is Audi's version... remind you of anything sporty that VW used to make?

Exactly, it looks pretty pathetic, unsportsmanlike and they are on the same team FFS... -
Hi mate - you just need to get it on VAGCOM, a dead MAF or N75 Valve will drive like there is no turbo... If it's the 115 AJM engine the headgasket may well have gone - very common fault with that particular engine at around 100k

Is that from CNC heads Kev? have they released the figures yet?

The slotted socket is only needed for castelated nuts on MK2's All you should need is a 14mm spark plug socket and a 7mm brake allen key but check these before starting as some nuts are different (22mm instead of 21mm and some new shocks have 6mm keys) You will also need spring compressors.

I'm fairly sure this would work.... I have some (4 stud) lupo/polo stub axles that came with a pair of brand new MK4 calipers and carriers... the bolt spacing is the same so I think they'd fit providing you have all the parts - The hub and wheel bearing are one part (£50 a side) and can only be used once so these would need to be new, discs and pads are cheap as chips... With the 4Motion setup the calipers are different (wider for the vented discs) and you would need to check the handbrake situation + stub axle bolts and mk4 sheilds etc...

ND (Denso) Marsdon - UK made part but only seem to be available thru VAG... Could try speaking to them tho - based in Shipley near Bradford.
