Yeah, as above don't fill to the max - it's an expansion tank and should reach that level when hot... basically it's a pressurised system (in order to raise the boiling point) but there is a relief valve in the blue cap. (if you have a black cap then it's likely that the valve is shot - maybe stuck open)

No - it holds ABS codes ok...
-
Yep thats the part and it just pushes on... You only need new bolts if the sheilds are coming off (they go behind the stub) Yeah large socket will get the bearings in - make sure you use VAG bearings only or you'll be doing the job again in ayear or so!
-
Yep, always use new as any distortion will bring the abs light on... Common mk4 part so dealers should keep in stock, you need new bearings too and maybe think about new sheilds along with stub axle bolts...

Hi mate, it should prime when key is turned for 2 secs to build up rail pressure... Then as you start the car the ECU waits for a signal from the Crank Sensor before it connects the FP relay, it will be on constantly then until you shut the engine off... On shut down it will then run on for a maximum of 10 mins...
-
Yeah - you really need vagcom to confirm it's that corner but I would change the cage...
-
Welcome to the forum... Yep - as above have a look at the KB link, fairly easy if not a bit fiddly to do...

9 mm I think (standard is 10) - why not just buy new, not expensive?

Clutch slave cylinder sticking out and wont go back in
Supercharged replied to quicky1980's topic in Drivetrain
Shouldn't require that much force but maybe open the bleed nipple then re-bleed after you install... -

You really need a workshop manual dude - have you looked on ErWin? -
Could be alarm wiring but worth cecking the screws holding the lower cowling to the top are not shorting the looms...

Whats wrong with it?? There are repair kits available from VW but it depends on what the particular problem is...
-
Rad Fan??? Look on eBay as there is usually someone sellling for about £100- brand new VAG VW want over twice that amount!

Flashing fault codes on an aftermarket ECU(G60)
Supercharged replied to dirtytorque's topic in Engine Bay
What ECU is it??? Most aftermarket management does not have OBD and the G60 only had a limited function anyway - maybe plug a standard ECU in?? -
As above plus the VW II calipers are for 239mm - the type with the anti-rattle clips and allen head bolts
-
Yeah, could be manky fluid but I'd be tempted to get a slave anyway if it's not been done before... Any signs of leaks Matt?? (there may not be tho) Easy enough to shoot some new fluid thru it with an Eezibleed kit and an 11mm Brake pipe spanner... then it's just a case or 2x10mm bolts and the pipe union to change it...

The relays are for ABS - none for the blower... Check 12V to the plug then either trace back or investigate the resistor pack (altho these usually fail and it still works on speed 4 - no resistance)

Help starting problem just before gti Inters!
Supercharged replied to Chris Langdon's topic in Engine Bay
Also worth changing (or reseating / cleaning if you can) the 2 critical relays - Fuel Pump and ECU -
Yeah thats the part - looks a good price but postage may take it over the price of a new one £70 from VAG Other options are you can replace the bearing if the spring and wheel are ok - guide to do this in the KB and part is £10 ish There is also a billet tensioner wheel with bearing available from somewhere (states i think)

If you braking hard then you havn't given them time to bed in but if they are getting hot just from driving then there may be a bind - most likly the sliding edges of the carrier need cleaning again (flat blade screwdriver) and re-greasing... The other thing is fluid - fluid is forced back from the piston into the line when you change pads, maybe old or contaminated....

Clay I reckon but Nathan may have a better idea... Not sure if TFR has degreasing properties?
