You port it yourself dude? I rebuilt mine shortly after your visit with new gaskets etc but was too scared to take the dremel to it! -
If you replace only use VAG ones. If you adjust make sure you use a new split pin!
-
Make sure you change that fork, it looks fooked and also the sleeve the release bearing moves along...
-
Shared with the brake fluid - ontop of the brake MC with a take off for the clutch MC
-
Are you making up names again Walesy??
-
Yeah you really need the ABS as you get a bigger MC... Seat Brembo's or AP's? expensive now tho...
-
Plastic tool will either be on the bonnet stay pr clipped to the jack handle (or missing )
-
Fairly sure they're M6's so make sure you have the correct bolts to replace along with the seats as above... If you get stuck get yourself some Irwin bolt grippers (machine mart)
-
Welcome to the forum... SNS no lag map will a 68mm pully (and ported charger) http://www.gwerks.com
-
Sorry ust read you did take out and clear, maybe the flexi pipe to the slave is shagged but I would of thought the clucth yould feel awful if so?? Manual procedure is correct btw...
-
Hmmm - pressure bleeding you should just open the slave nipple and it will come thru... you may need to take the nipple out and inspect / replace (not under pressure of course) How does the clutch feel? when you did the brakes did you kep the res topped up (ie above the takeoff for the clutch master)?
-
They fit 280m discs ok but you need longer hoses and ABS
-
Yep, JBL 2 ways fit straight it... Rear seats, just push down and towards the back then up and the bases unclip If you have the centre arm rest it flips up and there are 4 screws, behind that are 4 10mm nuts that hold the back rests, undo these, flip forward and slide out. 15 mins tops for the above...
-
...and this one shows all th tools Karmann used to create it
-
Early interior proto...
-
Most of the above are the later prototypes - This is the rear of the mk that Mave posted which really shows the mk3 Rock...
-
Yeah it would have started to go the minute you put your pin number in at VW.... it's the Corrado effect!
-
Look for a leak and check fluid level - slave sylinder gone most likely if it's never been changed...
-
It's to do with the grade stainless they use, they will not touch supercharged cars altho turbo's are not a problem...
-
Yep, any good autoelectrical place will do a regulator / brush pack for a Bosch alt for about a tenner...
-
Unplug abs, Loosen axle bush bolts, support axle, remove suspension bolts and let it down...
-
I've done that Tom but they are locked solid... can't see a lever either...
-
Ok, if you drop the axle make sure you disconnect the ABS sensors from under the rear seat first! Jobs worth thinking about at the same time are rear shocks (+ top mounts / bump stops) and axle bushes (probably need a new pressure regulator with these + flexi hoses)
-
Good work dude! Little tip i picked up the other day but not sure it will apply to you or not is that if you are trimming onto the foam it can wear away at the back of the leather over time (foam is coarse) so you should put a layer of polyester inbetween (get this from an uphosterers)
