  1. Welcome Mr Santa! Mallard Red !?!
  2. More brake bias is required at the front on a fwd car, thats why the discs are bigger, a rear brake upgrade is difficult as the discs incorporate the wheel bearings unlike the fronts...

    duff G60

I'd change the BTS mate first as they're not expensive...
  4. Yep - soak all the bolts in PlusGas a few days before removal...
  5. MK3 wipers are way too long 19 and 21"!!
  6. No the pump is standard 8v but as you will find it's a bit more difficult to get to than on a GTi - ie you have to remove charger and bracket Also - don't use a second hand pump unless it's very new as they are only £25 from VAG
  7. Welcome to the forum, First off check the connections to the battery and starter motor are tight, if the ignition switch to starter solenoid connection is still going thru some alarm wiring then there could be a fault there even it its disconnected... Other things to consider are the ignition switch and the starter motor or solenoid (especially if it's a rebuilt unit from a motor factors as they only replace whats necessary to get it working again)
  8. Oh and here is the link... http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/faq_1.html
  9. Hi Caroline, Yeah 00513 is G28 - the crank sensor so that must have come up with the engine off?? - If it was dead the engine wouldn't run at all... Maybe the auto's give slightly different fault codes to manuals - maybe worth checking the wiring anyway...
  10. Yeah, you need to remove the plastic mesh - there is a kind of plastic clip that slides to release it then you will have room to get the ECU out
  11. G50 takes about 5 ltrs....
  12. Yeah - just use water for now... You shouldn't loose any when changing those senders - just make sure the car is cold and you undo the exp tank cap to depressurise the system next time...
  13. width should be 20mm i think (I'm not going outside, it's raining!) - the new one is wrong, like Sam says above should be a Gates Powergrip belt
  14. Yeah - I just checked the price, rrp is is £11 +vat parts club price is £6 +vat (was £4 last time I got one!)
  15. Belt is £4.50, Pulley is about £18 2_Door_fun, that belt is wrong - Always use VAG parts for critical stuff like this, especially as you know you'll get the correct part and they come in sealed packs. You also want to think about doing the crank bolt while your there as they have been known to break....
  16. Part numbers and sizes of all belts are also in the instruction manual...
  17. Sheeet - how can you tell if the crank has been damaged by the pulley?? PG block is about £850 from VAG (exchange) with the head being about £550...
  18. Welcome to the forum, there are 50mm and 90mm versions available, the bigger one being twice the price of the smaller one unfortunatly....
  19. Hmmm... the problem with the roof is that it is double skinned... worth a try tho...
  20. LOL, can't we make it CFUK, or maybe FCUK then we wouldn't have to bother getting out own T shirts made up...
