Welcome to the forum BTW  You can also measure resistance across the sensors to locate a faulty one but VAGCOM is best...
-
There are other VW forums???
-
JamVR6, if the light comes on then a fault will be logged (if you have a VR6 which I assume you do) but may have been lost due to the battery issues... get it checked again and it will tell you what sensor if playing up...

You can't get a vernier for the VR but 268's are a good mod to an NA VR6, there is a pair for sale in the er, for sale section

You can also use any AH profile Key - like the mk3 one with the light built in... Only thing is most VW dealers have got rid of the cutting equipement now so you have to go elsewhere and pay seperatly for that... -
Yeah = as above jim, you can swap the inner valve yourself easily if you suspect that...

Just the belt... 13mm ratchet spanner comes in handy tho...
-
Any luck mate?
-
full handle i'm afraid...
-
The belt, roller, water pump and bolts comes to about £100 alone plus the drive belt filters etc... looking at £150 just in consumables...
-
..Try pouring some warm water onto it to help it off...
-
Yeah - just pull it - worst case is 7p if you destroy it
-
Remove the plug, the green (or now black) clip should just slide - use a screwdriver carefully if it's stuck Depressurise the system first by undoing the expansion tank cap (engine cold) The BTS should just pull up but you may need to give it a bit of a twist to help it out, again use pliers if you need to...

Nah - you don't have aircon then.... The belt part numbers are in the instruction manual by the way - also don't buy it from GSF or ECP as both sell a belt which is too short (still!) It's about £3 from VAG and made by Gates
