  1. A good time to do something with the tweeters in the dash if you haven't already.
  2. I can't get my head around the glovebox removal. Did they get superman to kick them in at the factory
  3. Luckily i have a great place near work who supplied the alternator and can test that. The battery does go flat after a couple of weeks of not driving car.
  4. Might disconnect one fan and see how it helps.
  5. Might just get another battery and try it. Something i do have is a noise from aux belt area on startup, i thought it was the tensioner bearing but i spose it could be the alternator, i tend to start car and spray some WD40 on around that area and noise goes away, or it'll make the noise for a few minutes and goes away on its own
  6. Crossed a marathon finishing line?
  7. Been out with the multi meter today. Tested it with fans running as they put wire a demand on the elecs as i have twin spal that draw full power instead of 3 stage. With engine running from cold i get 13.75v at battery. It's that too low? I thought it was meant to be over 14v With fans on and engine runing battery showed 12.85v and kept falling regularly to 11.85v, fans stopped after that as i think engine cooled off. Fans on but engine not running showed 11.9v, when fans turned off battery showed 12.09v

    lego

I've bought and sold quite a few lego kits over the years. They can appreciate in value quite a lot once the lego shop sells out. I bought a kit for about £80 and sold it 3-4yrs later for about £180

    schrick plumbing

Yes, this worries me. The thing with Facebook is its easy and it works. The photobucket thing really hit the forums hard imo.
  10. Going to check voltages tomorrow, took it out today and seems to run a bit too lumpy on idle and then turning anything electrical on like high beam or elec window and the revs increase a bit and seems to run alright
  11. Fixed it today with standard stuff. I used Meyle stub axles and bearings as they were easy to order online from vw heritage. Will report back on how they last as people seem to have mixed opinions on aftermarket stuff.
  12. Hi mate Thanks for offer but i've bought some new last night now
  13. I am always pleased with my magnex, one of the first things i bought for car, got it off ebay for £120 no pics but took the risk and it arrived like brand new condition and after nearly about 90k and 10yrs its still great
  14. Anyone got any good stub axles for sale? I believe they are all the same but need ones with holes for abs, can't remember if all corrados had abs or not
  15. I like the teves20 abs, always pleased not to see that bias valve when I'm under the car, and to have working abs finally
  16. Am starting to think Fendervg may be right, might just fit standard stuff and try adjusting it properly  Will be much cheaper and faster to source the parts
  17. Cheers, pics are helpful, whats involved in modifying the hub to fit the abs ring?
  18. I think it was my fitting of them that has lead to them getting damaged, they have only done about 2000miles. I just prefer the idea of something i can just bolt on and not have to worry about them being fitted correctly.
  19. I just want the easiest bolt on option, what size are standard rado discs? 256? If i just wanted solid discs what could i use, plus i need to buy new abs pick up rings (think my last lot of rado discs the rings came pre-fitted to disc
  20. Cheers Swifty I've gone through parts catalouge and think these are parts i need (i'll go to vw and get a price as i've rather fit new genuine parts if not too expensive. Polo 6N Stub axles = 6N0501118 & 6N0501117 Polo 9N hubs = 6Q0598611 (not sure if these include bearings or not) Lupo Gti Spacers = 6E0501465A & 6E0501466A (not 100% sure i need these yet) 8x Bolts = N90759801 These are M10x1.25 x 40 Figured if i get the longest ones i could always trim them down if req. Then its just the 256mm vented discs, unsure which model these come from.
  21. Since photobucket went all weird, has anyone got a decent way to upload pics? I tried the sites uploader but tells me my photos are too big and i can't be arsed to resize them all. I find myself using facebook more often now to share pics and feel guilty about it.
  22. Hi everybody! Am looking into the polo rear bearing upgrade and as usual i get confused by what parts i need to order, anyone here able to help? Firstly i've found this thread on here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?91682-VW-Polo-sealed-bearing-upgrade-rear-stub-axles-hubs-and-powdercoated-disc-shields-SOLD and Yan via Facebook linked me to this thread: https://clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads%2Fpolo-ibiza-stub-axle-on-a-golf-mk1-to-mk3-guide.177988%2F One mentions a polo 9N, the other a polo 6N. What i have: Corrado VR6 5x100 Mk4 Golf rear calipers Teves20 ABS Quite like the idea of having vented calipers, Figured i need: Stub axle ABS ring Brake discs Bearings Do i need different brake dust shields? I noticed they sell a polo 9n disc with bearing already fitted to it.
  23. I hate the fabric stuff in an engine bay, for me i use the fabric for interior wiring. I used a non-sticky stuff in the engine bay, you just tape the end. Then i put what i could inside some of that black ducting you get on modern cars.
