Oh ok mate see what you're saying now. Tbh I'll try a new motor if it works happy days, if it doesn't or packs up a little while after I'll just do without a sunroof. Really can't be arsed taking the mechanism out I'd rather just get the air con working ;)

Portent thats excellent mate. Condition is of zero importance - the tyres can be as bald as you like as long as they can hold air for a week or so - they will be used for rolling the car into the garage while my wheels are off and rolling it back out again to fit my wheels when I get them back :)

Daleyboy - yep already on it James - the motor sticks even when there's no load on it ie disconnected from the sunroof mechanism completely, so surely it has to be either the motor or the supply to the motor rather than a jamming mechanism?

Right chaps I know I'm kind of new round here but I'm hoping someone can help me out with a small favour. I'm going to be sending my wheels off for a refurb in the next few weeks and I'm going to need some wheels to roll it back into my garage while my rims are off. I'm going to stick my spare on so ideally could do with three other wheels but could get away with borrowing just one wheel. Doesn't matter what they are or anything as long as they roll. If anyone local to Farnborough/Aldershot/Camberley or Heathrow could help me out I'd really appreciate it and obviously there'd be a few beers in it for you...

Dont suppose you have a working sunroof motor do you?

I knew I shouldn't have been so cocky! Sunroofs been fine since Sunday and I've been opening and closing it like a good un without any problems whatsoever. Until tonight. Opened it fine on my way home from work then when I got in I tried to close it using the total closure for the first time and guess what - moved about an inch then stopped and I had to close it inch by inch by repeatedly pressing the switch. I took the motor off the sunroof mech and it still only moves in small increments with no load on whatsoever so I'm guessing the motors dying, which although a bit of a pain in the arse is preferable to me than a full mechanism rebuild. Anyone got a working motor for sale? :)

Had the tilt-but-no-slide issue on my sunroof so have spent the last couple of weeks reading loads on what it could possibly be. Just went out and had a bit of a look about and noticed one of the plastic rollers wasn't seated properly, a quick poke and voila - one tilting and sliding sunroof! Happy is not the word :D

Hahaha Mate you couldn't describe these as too smart :D Tbh they're not in that bad condition just been painted black - badly! Just an idea for you mate, I dont want a lot for them and the offers there if you change your mind :)

Are you adamant you want 15/16s? Could do you a screaming deal on a lovely* set of 17" RCs... *not very nice

Quick update - brimmed it last night and it's stopped cutting out. Gauge was showing just over half and it took £50 so looks like the gauge is ok. Also double checked the battery terminals last night and although the bolts were tight, the terminals weren't tight on the posts. Fingers crossed :)

Anyone know if Lenso BSX will go over 312mm TT brakes without a lot of messing?

Yeah sorry must admit I haven't filled it right up yet. It seems to be hard rights that are doing it especially roundabouts. Yeah it's a dizzy not coil pack model. Cheers for the advice so far much appreciated :)

Battery terminals tight and single key as the ignition key - any other ideas chaps?

I've always used a combination of Ivanhoe and Dynamat but heard really good things about the Silent Coat packs CAD sell so think I'm going to give that a go in the Corrado

Got a bit of a strange problem with the engine cutting out when cornering. Started on the way home from picking the car up - after a bit of spirited driving I went into a roundabout fairly quickly and as I was coming out the other side the car just died. After about 20 secs it started up straight away and was fine til I hit another fast corner when it coughed a few times but didn't actually cut out. The fuel gauge is showing 3/4 tank but I'm thinking maybe a faulty gauge (haven't got the cash just now to try and brim the tank) or perhaps the lift pump in the tank (I'm assuming they have one). Any ideas? Cars a 93 VR6 btw

It's a 93 VR6, pretty clean but obviously been painted recently, 139k miles with lots of history. good bits - head was rebuilt at around 110k has 312mm brake conversion, AMD remap, BMC induction kit, Milltek exhaust, Weitec coilovers, polybushed, mocal oil cooler, Audioscape door pods, Recaro seats. There are a few little things that need sorting, some of which I knew about some I have found later - sunroof doesn't slide, ABS light doesn't work, wheels have been brush painted with smoothrite, OS door mirror not working and has a slight fuelling issue I'm going to ask about elsewhere. It drives really nicely though, there's nothing that can't be fixed and this is going to be a long term project... Oh and that sound... :D

Well after numerous other VWs, a handful of classic Americans and various scooters I've finally got the Corrado VR6 thats been in the back of my mind for the best part of twenty years so I'd best say hello :) *edit* Just noticed its taken me over six years since I registered on here to make my first post and all lol
