  1. Nice one cheers mate. Just ordered a Hella one off eBay.
  2. As above - think my rads had it and need a replacement, are there different types depending on whether the vehicle has aircon or not? Any recommendations on where to buy/which ones to steer clear of? Cheapest so far is from Northern Radiators anybody got any experience of them? Cheers Jamie
  3. Are you using an industrial sort of steam cleaner or one of the small hand held ones? Autosmart do a product designed specifically for this but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called (sorry not a lot of help I know :) ) but you do need a proper steam cleaner to get the best from it. G101 works well on the leftovers as well.
  4. Looks like its sorted. Had to disconnect the aircon pipe from underneath (aircons not working anyway) but once that was out of the way was straightforward enough. Only done the black one as that was the one that looked like it was leaking badly but have the others just in case. Thanks for your advice all, was really appreciated :)
  5. Oh that's awesome cheers mate. I'm going to have a go without but if it's too much of a struggle I'll just take the front off.
  6. Right had a look under there and it's the senders on the oil filter housing. Oh and what i originally thought was the oil filter housing is the oil filter housing :D The oil cooler looks bone dry so thats good. Can't see how I can get to the senders without taking the front end off at all though. Can't get to them from the grill cos the aircon and coolant rads are in the way. Is there a how to on taking the front end off anywhere on here? Thanks for the replies btw - reply appreciate it :)

    Clay bars???

Sean - introducing a man to detailing world is one step below getting them hooked on heroin. Wish I'd never found that place  Ruggy - I've got APs on my Alhambra and they are really good mate, especially for the money. I don't have them wound right down as its my daily, but its down 70mm and the ride is firm but not harsh and not at all crashy. If you're on a budget I would say go for it, they're certainly better than the FKs I had on my MKII ...
  8. Brilliant thanks Goldie. I take it it's likely to just be the oil cooler seals then? Is this a common fault? What I thought was the oil filter housing looks like its the bottom of the oil cooler sandwich plate judging by the pics I've seen on the Internet tonight and that seemed to be where the oil was really dripping out from.
  9. Yeah know what you mean. Was going to go in my Corrado depending if I've sorted the oil leak by then. If not I'll jump in with one of my mates but if the weather is as bad as being forecast I'll probably just give it a miss.

    Clay bars???

Hahaha - two different replies both saying almost exactly the same thing :)

    Clay bars???

Clay is brilliant stuff. Its basically a mild abrasive that removes/shaves the top off contaminates on the surface of your paint. You wash your car, then either dry it or clay it while it's still wet, then re-wash and dry. The process of claying is to spray the panel with a lubricant (I use Meguiars Last Touch but you can use a strong car shampoo solution) then lightly glide the clay over the paintwork making sure it is well lubricated all the time, as dry clay will mar the surface, turning the clay and folding it in so you are always using a clean side, until the surface is smooth (put your hand in a sandwich bag and run it over the surface to test). You can clay all of your car including the wheels and glass not just the paint. You do it after you wash but before the polishing stage once or twice a year. My personal favourite clay is Sonus green but the Meguiars kits from Halfords are pretty good to start you off. Give it a go - you'll be amazed by what comes off "clean" paintwork.
  12. Is your real name Derren Brown? :D Had a quick peak as I was leaving and it seems to be coming from around the oil filter housing underneath. Couldn't see for definite but the top around the sensors looked a bit wet as well but was difficult to see cos the air con pipes were in the way. Is this a fairly straightforward, albeit awkward fix if it is this? Pete there's a reason I panicked which luckily I don't have to reveal now
  13. Took my car out of hibernation to get some tyres on it last week for the MOT and everything seemed spot on. I've just pulled it up to my house from the garage which is across the road and noticed an oil spot on the garage floor but it looked pretty old so didn't really think anything of it. When I put it away between the time I got out and opened the garage door and drove it in, it dropped a puddle the size of a saucer! Then I noticed when I walked to the house there's a spot outside the house the size of your fist and a trail from the house to the garage :( I'm praying it's the sump cos the cars pretty low, but I don't remember hitting anything and I've got to leave for work now so where's a good place to start looking if it isn't the sump?
  14. I know its not really a Corrado or even VAG orientated event, but anyone going to Wheels Day?
  15. I was planning on making one up in either MDF or ABS before Joe very kindly hooked me up, really shouldn't be too difficult. But yeah don't use metal - the alloy on the centres is really soft.
  16. Ignore me - I thought the link Bill had put up was wrong, just checked the part number on mine and he's right that is the one. Didnt look right to me...
  17. Cheers mate :) You'll struggle to find a spanner at Jag now unfortunately. I tried three different dealers and they all said the same thing - out of stock and on back order with no available delivery date. Still worth a go but don't get your hopes up
  18. Definitely one of the best looking rims for a Corrado.
  19. Use Poorboys Natural Look for interior plastics - it's really good stuff and gives a really nice, non glossy natural look, hence the name. I've heard from a few people that Pears soap is a brilliant cleaner for leather interiors but I've never used it myself. I used Meguiars Leather Cleaner and Conditioner on the leather in my Passat a few years back but have to say I wasn't impressed at all
  20. You do if you if you live across the road from Mark from Heavenly Detail. His VXR correction thread was insane...
  21. As said above - its all about the prep. I find lighter coloured cars, especially silver, is quite difficult to get any depth of shine on. My personal preference polish wise is the Menzerna range, then an oily glaze like Clearkote RMG (which is also quite filler heavy will mask a bit of swirling) and topped with either a nice sealant like Opti-Seal and/or a decent wax. I've used plenty of waxes in my time at all price levels and for the combination of price, ease of use, looks and durability DJ Rainforest Rub is hard to beat, although at the moment I'm using Victorias Concours Red on my Corrado. I've not used them but also heard nothing but good things about Prima Amigo and Black Hole as well. You can learn so much by having a read of the detailing world forum but be warned - it's very addictive! :D
  22. Ok well let's just say - if you sell your engine, Coullstar lets you down and the other ten people all join a cult or are struck down with an unidentified bum fungus that renders them unable to sit down let alone drive ever again, I'll have the Schrick manifold...
  23. I'd be interested in the Schrick if you sell the engine and Coullstar doesn't take it :)
