  1. What do you reckon would be a fair price for RHD VDO gauges?

The guages used to retail for £170 when they were available, £50 for the duel pole sender unit. Heritage had a few pairs left a year or so ago, which are now gone. Which I paid £350 for all in. So I guess it depends how desperate you want a pair....

You do loose the cubby hole which is ideal to put a Big Mac in at the drive through. :)

  2. Mine came with connectors already fitted, plug and play. Their connectors don't lock together too well with the originals and the spade connectors don't lock into their housings too well, they're a bit "Chineeseum" in concept / execution, but work with a little help when fitting and have been fine in operation ever since.

Mine was a 3 relay loom from Kurzy.. which I put additional plugs on myself.

  3. Does the new loom come with connectors that fit to the lamp connector? Check the pin has not pushed back out of the new harness plug that connects to the lamp connector as that's what mine did on my Rayne loom.

Rayne automotive supplied me some additional male and female connection blocks so I could tidy my loom up... they were quite expensive but worth it i think.

  4. Whilst in Germany recently I came across this boat at the dusseldolf boat show. It has an a4 interior and electric roof. Not sure how the interior and electrics would stand up to getting wet. But novel.

It's not my video. Just need one with a corrado interior and dash.

  5. If you intend to reprogram the fob again... it's quite easy.... the instructions are on here somewhere or I maybe able to dig some out... I bought 3 new fobs and had to programs them recently... you need to find your control box a flick a few dip switches... and go through a sequence with the keys in the ignition.

It's a rubbish alarm rip it out and put something modern in :) I was very tempted.

    Mine was a 996

"As for reprogramming a laserline fob it can be done. I have instructions for 996V2/996V3/919/917/776/719.

    As follows:-

Note when programming a new fob ALL existing fobs/touch keys must be programmed in also. The system will accept a maximum of 4 fobs and two touch keys.

    Procedure:

    1. Ensure that the alarm system is fully disabled using and existing fob/touch key.

    2. Locate the alarm control box.

    3. Turn on the vehicle ignition

    4. Set Dip switch 3 to the ON position. If the LED is ON go to step 6

    5. Press and release the arm/disarm button on a valid remote or insert a valid touch key. The LED will light continuously.

    6. Press and release the arm/disarm button on the new fob (or insert and remove the touch key). This will be acknowledged by the led going off then on again.

    7. Repeat step 6 with ALL fobs/keys to be programmed onto the system.

    8. Set dip switch 3 back to off position and turn off ignition.

    9. Test all new fobs/keys. "

This works for me so it's a start

  6. Right just picked this up from Euro

It is definitely a Bosch item, the bolt locations are exactly the same, it looks like a modern alternator but.... the plug for the ignition/switch is different, this doesn't bother me as I will simply buy one and replace the older style one.. but if people were expecting a direct drop in replacement, its not but a very simple upgrade.

I'll try and get some pictures.

be interested to see how you get on with this.

  7. cheers Cressa ;)

I'm pretty chuffed with it, timed it all up today, then did the test run with the manifold... got so much going on with it, gearbox casings have been aquablasted and the box rebuilt, I'm re-wrapping the loom, gasket matched and polished the exhaust manifolds, the front sub-frame is back in... I really need to update my build thread.

    Oooooh engines looking lovely Giles....

  8. If I listed all the spares I’ve accumulated it would be a frightening list. And I currently have only 2 interiors in my loft

Although I do have a large garage and 2 Big sheds

Won’t stop me buying though Giles, so you have been warned :)

Sadly there isn’t as many temptations these days as I think I have most stuff covered. The above Shrick did tempt me but I need a running car before worrying about that type of modification

Interior in the loft ?? I'd be watching telly in those beige recaros in the living room.

  9. Hopefully this weekend I will use the Fusion . According to the distructions , you have to apply one coat and leave for ten minutes, then apply another and leave it for an hour before buffing it off .

  10. It would be good to meet up again Rob, I can’t do Killerton though

Delfinis38, I use the Dodo Blue Velvet and it’s very good imo

Thanks harrier.. how long does the blue velvet or blue velvet pro last... im torn between this product and the dodo juice supernatural hybrid which is a general wax and sealer for general cars last 4 - 6 months... im not into to waxing a car too often...

Do you use the lime primer before or put the wax on top of the polished surface.

  11. Hi Chris,

Probably on lasts about 4 weeks because its a soft wax but the advantage imo is that you get a deep wet look your paintwork.

Inbetween washes I top it up with Dodo Juice Red Tropical mist spray which keeps it looking good longer.
