Sad times mate good luck with your future cars.

If it's any help I've had mine from them on for 8 years still going strong.
-
I had a spacer on the one that failed so didn't seem to help been on 4 years.

Changed coilpack for spare known good one and all back and running on 6 again rather than intermittently running on 5. Sprayed a mist of water over the leads at the coilpack and no nasty arcing and after a good run out it's back to its best. Going to replace the spare with a better make though so will get a bremi from euro car parts.
Only one small crack on the coilpack in the middle shame as only been on 4 years.

Yeah the leads I have on are from Mr retro leads (my car engine on his ebay ad). Now I've found my spare coilpack (ecp crap make but will do for testing purposes) and I've got spare it leads as well I can test tomorrow.
-
Usually when the coilpack fails though it fails in pairs. So would go down to 4 cylinder mine seems to indicate 1 which means lead or spark plug?

Got in the car this morning and noticed it felt and sounded different than usual. Proceeded to open bonnet and noticed arching on one of the spark leads where it joins to the coilpack. What's the first port of call the coilpack isn't that old Bosch one. I'll try and post video in a minute.
Cheers

Did you have heated seat on?

I actually ended up using a drill attachment with sandpaper on to get the perfect smooth finish.

Any update of this?

Just noticed their fan shroud is ready and looks good but quite pricey. I've asked a few questions about it ie. How it's wired up etc.
From looking at the pictures how does everyone else think it's wired up?
Does it do away with the whole fan control module (black unit near expansion tank)?

So would this need spraying before putting on the car ?
"Surface: raw / untreated, slightly rough, varnishable"

The plug is actually snapped just below where the wires join the plug. Hence new plug connector needed.

Where in South manchester?

Noticed my outside temp sensor wasn't showing on the dash so had a look and noticed a break on the plug (blue plug) that connects to the temp sensor. So I think that's the problem any one have a spare plug off the loom I could have? Or anyone know where I can get a replacement from.
Cheers Jon

I was in the slow lane so no convoy. Don't think he/she even saw me.
