1. Definitely not going out in this...
2. Looking good - far and away the best colour for a Corrado too ;-)
3. Yep, the main bulbs are H4s, the spots are H3. Something like the Philips Xtreme Vision +whatever% work well for me. If the wiring loom's stock I'd start with the fuses. If you're running an uprated loom then check the fuses in the loom as well and the relays, quite often they're not very well weather proofed and fail after getting wet.
4. I blame the Beastie Boys.... For those too young to remember: http://www.angelfire.com/fl2/beastie/vw.html
5. Yeah, once we've got high security gates on the drive, razor wire and a couple of motion-activated machine gun nests that is... Guess I'll just clean off the glue residue for now and go stealth for a few months :-/
6. I hear you. I'm leaving it up to karma though. Apart from the minor drawback of not having the faintest idea who it was, summary revenge has a tendency to end badly. And being furious and vengeful doesn't do a lot for your blood pressure or your general state of mind. More practically I popped the VR6 badge off the grille so I don't have to worry about someone half-inching that. And ordered a new Storm badge from Trimsport. On the plus side, it'll look smarter than the slightly tired original badge. If ever dare to put it back that is...
7. Good work on the headlining. Mine's just starting to let go in a couple of places, so I might have to follow your example.
8. Cheers fella, I actually have one of those already and you're right, it's pretty much indistinguishable from the original. I'll maybe buy a second as a back-up for the back-up though.
9. Just spoken to the police, They suggest CCTV, so we're going to look into it. I try not to want to inflict violence on people, even the sort of scrotes who do stuff like this. It just irks me that people seem to have so little respect for others' property. Hmmmph...
10. Thanks for the sympathy, it's appreciated. The paint looks undamaged where it's been pulled off, just some leftover adhesive I think, so that's a positive anyway. And yep, I won't be replacing the badge any time soon. And yes, I've set up an eBay search, though how you'd ever prove ownership, gawd only knows I just spent 20 minutes sticking a new wing mirror on the Mk2, fortunately they're only 30 quid from Eurocarparts, so not the end of the world and going to look into sticking a solid gate on the front of the house and maybe a motion-activated cam looking over the car. People...
11. Yeah, I hear you. I kind of think it was someone who knew what it was worth, which in turn means it's likely someone who's into veedubs or at least cars, which is depressing in itself. I guess we could stick a digi cam on the side of the house, but then you mostly just end up with grainy footage of someone with a hoody pulled down over their face. I am trying to be philosophical on the basis that getting wound up doesn't really help, but it's annoying. At the the end of the day it is simply a 23-year-old plastic badge and I have a Trimsport replica sat around if I do want to replace it, which seems kind of pointless.
12. Hello mate, thanks for that. I actually have a Trimsport reproduction badge already. To be honest, I'm reluctant to put anything back on there for now anyway. Is your spare an OE part or repro?

Cheers

Jon

13. I despair of people, really I do. Three days ago some idiot kicked the wing mirror off my Mk 2 GTi, now someone's ripped the Storm badge off the back of my Corrado. I don't know what to say really. I'd like to be Buddhist and forgiving, but right now I'm just utterly ****ed off. Don't know if it's kids or someone who knows what it is and has stolen it to sell it. Don't care really, the end result is the same. FFS. There's one on eBay for £100. I won't be buying it any time soon. Sigh.
14. That looks ace. I bought one of those refurb kits ages ago and have a spare steering wheel to use it on, but keep failing miserably to actually get around to doing it. Thanks for the unwitting kick up the backside - I'd almost forgotten it existed  Edit: I did talk to the legendary Jim The Trim in Denton - did the headliner on my Mk2 and totally recommended - about refurbishing a steering wheel and the price was eye watering.
15. Thanks for that. I'll maybe splash out on a Trimsport one come the spring. They've revised the design slightly, apparently, and you can get them either direct from Trimpsport or from them on eBay I think. The idea of not having to drill the rear strut towers appeals, but I gather the one that works best is the triangulated Neuspeed version, which is obsolete.
16. Cheers for that. Does the adjustability help? Any issues with the Trimsport one?
17. Sorry for the hijack, but which rear strut brace are you using? I'm with you that a rear anti-roll bar makes a big difference and was thinking about a rear strut brace - maybe Trimsport - but there seems to be a bit of a debate over whether non-triangulated ones are worth fitting.
18. Just changed the seal on my foliage cover - the inlet that sits directly over the heater blower motor. Been getting damp carpet on the passenger side and I suspect this was the root of it. Cleaned out all manner of dead leaves, birds and unidentifiable gunk then slid the cover off as per the wiki article - http://wiki.the-corrado.net/changing_heater_scuttle_foliage_cover_seal.html. Anyone thinking of doing the same, might like to know that it's quite possible to access the cover without removing the lower windscreen plastic thing, which is worth avoiding as those bits are getting brittle and have often been siliconed in place after someone's destroyed the original clips. It's a little bit fiddly, particularly getting the c-clip thing back on, but pretty straightforward once you've lifted the scuttle rain cover out of the way. I think Jim posted this years ago, but it's worth knowing if you don't want to be wrestling with brittle plastic trim held on with obsolete fasteners that you'll probably break if they're not broken already. The original foam seal is now over 20 years old and had gone properly brittle and come unstuck in places. You could see where water had been able to get underneath it. The new one - VW Heritage do them - sticks onto the cover and feels reassuringly resilient and, erm, new. Anyway, fingers crossed that sorts it and I'm back to having a dry and happy Storm. I should probably do the same thing to my Mk2 as well just for peace of mind.
19. Been mentioned already, but if you're really stuck, Past Parts will refurbish your existing master cylinder. They bore it out and re-sleeve it with stainless steel. It was the only reliable option I could find for my VR6 bearing in mind that all Corrados are over 20 years old now and the VR6 master cylinder, at least, is obsolete from VW.
20. Silica cat litter. Dry out with a microwave after use. Anyway, that seems to have sorted it. Fingers crossed :-)
21. Dried out the passenger side rear footwell with a selection of towels then filled a fleece bag with cat litter and left it and a couple of silica crystal-filled boot driers overnight to hopefully take care of the rest, then cleaned out a small forest's worth of dead leaves from around the heater blower intake... Pondering a wet and dry vac purchase if that doesn't dry it out sufficiently. Drank coffee. Sulked. Tried to remember where the aftermarket bonnet foam I bought years ago actually is. Sulked some more... Can't be arsed with FB. I'm too busy filling small bags with kitty litter to bother with it
22. Or VW does a two-pack touch-up pack with base and lacqueur.
23. Several, but this is the best - Ragley Ti. Also a road bike, cross bike, an ageing Santa Cruz Blur 4x and one of them Sonder b+ things...
24. If it helps anyone, the OE part number is: 357837242 Common to quite a few VW models, so you should be able to pick them up at any VW dealer parts counter.
25. Looking good and the best Corrado colour too :smug:
