It also looks like a photochop, but my eyes could be deceiving me...
-
buggy = colloquial term for my motorised carriage..

Erm.. The cheque will either bounce (costing you £10) or you'll get arrested for selling something you don't have any more...
-
The rack costs around £250 + VAT from GSF and is usually the culprit. The steering column is a dealer-only part and costs £537 + VAT. I know which one I'm changing first!!

I'm not that bad.. But now you come to mention it.. 100% of the Corrados in that picture do have their bonnets open... :-P But anyway, you would complain too, if you'd had MY Corrado.

Hi all, Am toying with the idea of getting a CD player in the buggy, but know bugger all about ICE, so thought I'd ask you lot for advice. Don't want to spend too much (in car sounds aren't that important to me), and I don't want to have to modify anything, so ideally standard fitting (would consider speakers too but don't want to have to hack about the interior).. I'd *like* mp3 CD playback, and I'd *like* face-off (or preferably not the whole fascia, just a sub-section) for security. Also flashing lights are not important, I'm not 17 any more.. ;) Cheers, M.

Well exactly - if you're wanting just a replacement headlamp lens it has to have the refractor pattern, cos the silvered dish in the Corrado lamp doesn't control the dip pattern. Modern headlights use lenses or filters inside the structure of the lamp to allow them to use a completely plain outer glass.

As stated in the past, the factory tyre pressures only apply to the factory wheel size. If you run bigger wheels with shorter sidewalls or wider treads you should be running different pressures. Wider tyres == more pressure; shorter sidewall .. not sure exactly, cos although the sidewall is stronger, it has less flex and it needs to be flexed less too... Perhaps someone else knows?? The one thing that no-one has so far done, is contact a tyre manufacturer and ask THEM what the safe pressure range is for a given size of tyre when loaded with a given weight (the Corrado has around 70/30 weight balance so each front tyre supports ~420kg, each rear around 220kg). Because this is the only way to know for sure. I'm not going to, cos I run standard wheels... :)

Sorry should add VAG-COM is available from http://www.ross-tech.com/
-
It should work on the Corrado, but bear in mind the cheapo ones will only report error codes, they won't tell you what those codes MEAN. Real VAG-COM is the dogs doodads and it'll cost you $229 (US) with a permanent license and a suitable cable. You need a laptop but it's the best one out there, short of the VAG-only 1551 and newer tools, which will set you back a LOT more than that. You can use third party cables with VAG-COM too, but any cable at all is going to cost around £40-50 it seems.

Bathroom scales??? Two options: 1) individual packaging - wrap each wheel up for protection and send each separately 2) pallette - send them loose but tied to a pallette (this is the way larger, odd shaped items must be sent. 2 is probably more expensive, so your best bet is probably to invest in some sheets of bubble wrap and card and gaffer tape them up. You might get away with taping two wheels together, but it depends on the weight limits of the courier you choose to use. Don't forget postal insurance.. Particularly if you're using the royal snail..

Don't think the racks are serviceable these days, it's a replace or refurb job unfortunately... :( Particularly the power assisted ones.
-
And no-one would buy 'em new cos they'd be £200...
-
I wouldn't call them cheap, for £150. But HiFi they ain't. Cerwin Vega are known for being loud and bassy, that's all. Not my cup of tea at all..
-
Mine too. As you say: most likely it's the cooler air..

(He was only buying a CRANK last time we heard. I doubt it's gone 24v....!!)
-
I am guessing that user "samm_cvr6" has a Corrado VR6 ... :)
-
When does it rattle? Full throttle? Part throttle? 2762 revs only? right through the rev range? at idle? and what colour smoke..?
-
LUK Clutch is fine, but the OE chains and components are all made by Sachs, and personally speaking I'd rather have the real thing in there keeping those valves from smacking those pistons.
-
At least you'd have a chance, jedi... And what was the Storm anyway, other than... the exact modifications you've made. So really it *is* a storm.
-
He's right tho. It's very rare. There's only ONE that I know of..
-
Why the .83 ??? Presumably that's a nice round figure when translated into Euros...?
-
Ah, better quality of silence. Nice idea. I'll look into that.

Time for a head rebuild by the sounds of it..
