Mk3 VR6 from equivalent age Golf won't fit, too short. 760mm IS the magic number as I had to have mine extended after going through all this first hand.

Haha...literally just responded to your wanted ad. I do indeed still have the Gearbox. Get in touch. ---------- Post added at 10:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 AM ---------- Dash doesn't have to come out to the change the vents...assuming you speaking about the pair of vents in the middle the singles vents on each side of the dash..? Few screws and the pods that hold them come out. If you are looking to change from early to late however you'll need the vent holders as well as they are different. Drop me some more details and I'll see how I can help.

Hello mate, Got exactly what you need. 2.0 8v box which I need gone. Make me a reasonable offer. Can possibly deliver this week for the right price also.

Think I've got a few of the last few black fixings. Will look tonight.

A friend in the unit next door has just broke to Golf VR6 engines, assuming they are the same he should at least have one spare. Want me to enquire..?

I knew posting that would cause a little hostility amongst the purists on here however I think you'll actually find that particular car is on H&R sus with some custom made springs...something which round these parts are highly regarded as far as I'm aware and possibly the makers of some of the best coilover suspension kits I've had the pleasure of experiencing. It's also had various body modifications to allow the wheels to function correctly whilst maintaining a chosen body height. I'm far from saying this is what everyone SHOULD go out and do but I certainly appreciate the effort gone into making something like this actually function correctly apposed to just bolting them on, winding it down/pressing buttons and hoping for the best. I've also actually seen this car in the flesh and where as in most cases I'm disappointed with the actual car as photography can hide all mannor of sins, this was refreshingly the opposite. The level of detail of fit and finish is really quite excellent. I think the point I'm trying to make is the straight answer of "Don't do it." is pretty close minded.

I'm not gunna say don't do it but what I will say is depending on how frequently you use your car [only car/second car with daily etc...] I think has a bearing on whether to fit them or not. In order to make them look less ridiculous you'll have to run rubber bands for tyres, thus making the ride harsh and increasing chances of regular wheel damage. They can work and here is why I say this: However this wasn't a bolt on and walk off job either.

Happy to give details to any other interested parties as to where to get this for similar money new...as I searched long and hard before buying one. That and I wasn't prepared to the pay the extortionate prices some people want for used/damaged/old or even new ones. FYI Best of the luck to the seller. Love these items.

Clearance: Full Black A, B & C Pillar Trims inc Rear Joining Strip
StueyB replied to StueyB's topic in Parts for Sale
Hey Dec, Nice to find another local Rado enthusiast. No probs on collection as its much preferred however I'm 99% sure there are two small screw holes in the A-pillars...very much normal as I rarely come across a pair that haven't as most have had alarms and that's the choice location. Let me know if still interested, I'm around for most of the weekend so happy to arrange collection which will be from my unit in Cranfield, Beds so probably slightly closer to you. -
Having a clear out of the final items from the last breaker and realised I still have these. As title, full set of black interior pillar trims which include: 1. Pair of A Pillar Trims 2. Pair of B Pillar Trims 3. Pair of C Pillar Trims + Joining Strip All in good nick, no cracks, rips or tears. Pics: Priced to clear. £20 + delivery cost however collection preferred to avoid damage.

Was the rocker cover gasket changed as well..? The two types of cover have two different gaskets, I found this out the hard way. I was also under that impression the plastic cover allowed more heat to escape from the top of the engine than the metal ones hence the later golfs all had plastic. Could be tosh but i guess in theory it makes sense.

I've attempted this and it's pretty tough going, the sealant is very durable. Heat gun [hair dryer won't kick it] + skinny soldering iron are good tools for this job and some sharp implements. Oh and patience. I liken this job to removing rear windows or windscreens just on a much smaller scale.

Saw this go by the other day Ben, put a serious smile on my face mate. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Have passed details on to my housemate James, he's likely to give you a call today.

Cool, just the spelling that was confusing peeps I think. Best of luck on the search.

Just waiting to hear back from my housemate as this is exactly what he's after - thought this was sold first time round so didn't chase. ---------- Post added at 3:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:41 PM ---------- He's just emailed me and said he'll take it. Can you pm me a telephone number and I'll get him to get in touch.
