As with all engines, the key to longevity is religious oil changes and servicing. There was a 1.6 diesel VW Golf that clocked 500,000 miles on the original components. Shell were so impressed (Shell oil and diesel used in the engine it's entire life) they bought the car off the owner, stripped the engine down and put it in a glass case at the UK Head Quarters. Mad.

I saw a nice dark blue 16v, with what looked like some big wheels on it. I was in my MKII GTI, and overtook near the Watford junction on the M1. Anyone here?

I no it don't compare to some of you others, but just had my renewal through, I'm 26 & best quote I got was £538 fully comp, with mrs named driver, with mods & protected no claims... no security reqd, (although there is a CAT2 fitted at the mo)

Yeah, have a Autometer boost gauge. It was fitted by the previous owner and works fine.

I didnt see u there Bally ? You should have popped over (could have got me a nice warm cuppa :D ) I managed 1 pee and had 1 drink from 6.50am to 4 pm.... I was up at 3am, arrived there 6.45am....got home 8pm... and fell asleep 4 times on the motorway... which is not good... My toes are just beginning to get circulation back!
