  1. Thought I'd check up on the old Corrado scene after parting company with my mine nearly 4 years ago now and came across your thread Goldie. I must say you really have outdone yourself mate, I knew from your Storm how high your standards are but honestly this must be one the top Corrado's ever. And I'm sure it'll only get better with all the time off you'll get at SMQ lol
  2. Was thinking of maybe colour coding my engine covers so was unsure wether or not the black would go with that better but I know what you mean about them classic one's, they are the dogs 8)
  3. Hi folks, Santa is going to be good to me this year and get me some Samco's for the coolant system on my VR. I've had my eye on the classic style (http://www.samcosport.com/uk/images/colours6_big.jpg) or the black style but can't quite decide between them. Does anyone have either of these styles fitted? Any pics if so? Thanks in advance
  4. What you need is Tropical Fish!!!  The C will be fine then 8) The water marks may get to be a problem though...   Getting fish as well!
  5. Yeah know what you mean, thought a dog guard might be enough but thinking I'll need the cage now
  6. Believe it or not the woman I bought the car from got it from her husband to transport her greyhound! Cage sounds like a better idea though
  7. Hey peeps, May be a bit of an odd question here: Does anyone know of a dog guard made specifically for the Corrado or perhaps even a non-specific one that fits well? Going to be getting a smaller dog like a Jack Russell soon after I move into my new house next month. Cheers
  8. Got it from a company called SWG, you can find his advert in most of the VW mags or maybe online. It's advantages over the standard item are that first off it looks far more sexual  IMO and rather than being split into 3 pieces (like the original equipment) it comes in one piece so it provides a better rain seal against the windscreen and extends more than the original
  9. Haven't updated this thread in ages! Been a few changes since then, the charger has now been sold on as I realised I could not afford to fit it due to buying my first house. I actually had the Rado up for sale recently but after puting it in for an MOT and getting back a large bill I've decided to keep it and sell on my A4 instead. Modifications will be limited to what I can afford in the future but looking forward to the challenge. Here's a pic from when the bad weather hit us up north and the Rado resembled more of a snow plough! Also got a few bits coloured Fitted the SWG scuttle cover Also got some new rear lights from german eBay Now going to concentrate on getting a few little niggles sorted then keep it as clean and up to scratch as possible over the winter.
  10. I've only owned my Storm since about April last year but it hasn't given me any trouble at all. Had it fully serviced and checked over by The Phirm in September though so that may contribute to its good health, only hope it stays as reliable when the charger goes in!!!
  11. Thanks very much :D Kit cost me £1500 all in Cheers mate, I agree powdercoating is the way forward! Got the kit from Mike at VWspeed, absolutely top chap Spot on it's the same kit as you had but just in gold, it came from Jay McToldridge's Mk2 show car After seeing your kit all coloured thats why I really fancy doing now
  12. Thought I better bring my thread right upto date seeing as I've just bought myself this! Can't wait to get it fitted but I've decided to get other things sorted first such as brakes, suspension etc. so that when the charger is fitted the car is setup to handle such an increase in power. Only dilemma I have is whether to colour code the charger as I had intended or keep it gold as many of my friends are telling me? Other things I've had done are getting a SWG scuttle panel which I would recommend to any Rado owner as the fit and quality are excellent. Also had a full check over and service carried out by the guys at The Phirm who more than live up to their excellent repuation. As well as sorting all the little niggles I pointed out (and some they found) they also replaced my brake lines with Goodridge braided items and carried out some polybushing.
  13. Just checked on the brand of kit I have, it's XLS. Stands for Xenon Light Source, got them second hand on eBay for £50
  14. Thanks very much mate, I try my best
  15. HID stand for high intensity discharge (I think!), its a special type of bulb that is usual found on newer cars. They shine really bright and come in a variety of shades. They need a ballast box to ensure the bulbs recieve the correct voltage and a relay to allow the high beams to operate as normal. I haven't got mine fully working yet but here's how they look, personally I will be getting a auto electrician to fit them so I know it's been do properly.
  16. i can highly recommend fitting some HID's if you can get them wired up correctly
  17. very nice colour, wot is it called?
  18. very nice Rado you've got there, looks very cool on the black wheels 8)
  19. Hey Andy, got the wheels done back in August but the car has been down south since then and I haven't been updating any of my threads and I've only just started this one. I'm going down to get it Sunday and bring it up on Monday though so no doubt you'll get a look at them and the other bits I've just had done. Yeah Mikey has been telling me all about your Rado, it's going to look awesome when you get it back! Can't be long now till its all back together. Want to take some stuff to the powdercoater myself but that would mean taking the car off the road and I haven't got another motor just now so I'll get them done next year I think. What guy do you use? Pics would be great. Nearly back to full health now after my op, a week more and I'll be back to normal.
  20. They are H4's but I can't remeber which brand, I'll let you know next week when I get back down south. Had my appendix out so couldn't drive for the past fortnight. I can't even get the main beam to work with the HID's thats the problem!
  21. Cheers Goldie Joining Vanguard in March, can't wait to get out of Sultan!
  22. Know what you mean, looks kind of odd
  23. Thanks for the comments guys Ok BILLCOR, here's some more of the pics I've taken of stuff done. Decided to have my wheels refurbed a couple of months ago and have them powdercoated another colour. I know I said I was going to get some new rims but the tyres on the Solitudes had just been changed before I bought the car so I don't see the point in spending nearly £1500 on the rims I want at the moment when the tyres are good and I could put the cash to better use. Wheels and coilovers should come together some time next year. Here's one for the Storm purist, the wheels I had on whilst the Solitudes were being refurbed. Other changes include the old painting the inside of the headlight trick, HID's (which I still can't get working properly!), a 90mm splitter and German plates. And I've still got a ton of pics left!
  24. Hey all, Thought it was about time I post up some pics of my Storm. I got her back in April with 96k on the clock with a stack full of receipts from a couple in Essex. The previous owner used it very little as they bought it with the intention of transporting dogs! Looking through the doc's I found it had been really well looked after with VW receipts for everything including a new clutch. Mod-wise not much had been changed from standard. Lupo wipers, a full closure alarm and AmD remap being the only non-standard things. I have got some future plans lined up which include some new rims, coilovers and some engine changes. So far I have made some alterations but I'll make another post in a little while detailing these as I've got loads of pics and don't want to overload you! Here's some shots taken from when I first gave her a good clean. And with my now sold Mk2
  25. shouldn't be too much of a job removing/replacing the cat just a few bolts then work it loose G60 looks great by the way
