  1. glad to hear you are keeping it original. Helios Blue is my second favourite colour on the Mk2 Golf behind Oak Green. I would love to see an Oak Green Corrado, but as others have said it would be an unfeasibly large and costly job
  2. It's not easy for me staying away from Corrados. I have owned 5 including the current one ( 4 of them VR6s) and am currently debating getting a 6th to run too!..reason being my first VR6 from 2007 has come up on Ph classifieds and it is very cheap. I paid £6 k for it with 80k miles in from Volkscars in 07, I want to get it back because at that price it may well fall into the hands of an undesirable who will mod the arse off it!..though I really shouldn't get another just now. So, if anyone on here has some readies and wants a good car with provenance at a knock down price then PM me and I will give you the nod on which one it is at well under £2k!!..
  3. That's a great spot!.. My new favourite Bond film!..
  4. No thoughts of selling mine. I have had 5 Corrados now, and regretted selling them all. This one will only be sold if I buy a mega low mileage Storm..seeing as there aren't many of those around I will probs be keeping my current car forever!..you have a garage, put the car in it and then maybe recomission the C every summer
  5. I will have the wing off you as long as it is a late one. I am in Dover visiting bro on 2nd/3rd October so could pick it up then
  6. Your car looks absoloutely sensational in that photo, very inspirational regarding getting my bodywork sorted
  7. The longest relationships that I have had were all with Corrados!.. The way it should be. They share several traits with my previous Gfs...beauty, expense, infuriating and loveable in equal quantities..but on balance the Corrado would win for me every time!..

  9. There is a silver ( with red leather) 1988 Saab 900 Turbo Aero ( the other car I have been addicted to over the years) sitting on the front grass outside a house near me. It has the look of a well looked after car that has only recently been moored. Flat tyres and moss starting to grow, as well as the foliage around it. After seeing it for nearly a year not move I decided to be proactive. Went to the door and turns out the house is 2 flats. Rang the bell and lady answered confirming it was Landlords and that he didn't want to sell it. Apparently a few people have asked and he is keeping it to fettle it!..well, in the year since I asked it hasn't moved an inch. Such a crying shame that a previously cherished car (even original dealer plates and tax disc/ stickers still present) is being neglected to rot! These older cars need at least semi- regular use. It is heart breaking walking past it every day formthe last 2 years and seeing it worsen. Also, whenever I don't own a Corrado I leave spontaneous notes on nearly every good condition VR6 that I see asking the seller to ring me if they would consider selling it. Lavish a bit of praise in the note. Speaking personally I would be chuffed to receive such an endorsement
  10. Yeah, my 96 VR spoiler raises at an indicated 59-61mph. It definitely does not show 56. I have always assumed that my speedo is slightly optimistic on all cars I have owned. I suppose that's why the Rozzers give you the extra calculation on top of your speed before dishing out the tickets
  11. ..like a Ninja in the night?!.. Doing car repairs in the dark wearing a balaclava by the Light of a small torch whilst the missus sleeps!?..big padlock on the garage..she will probs think you are a proper weirdo with a dodgy secret, but at least she won't think you are wasting dosh on a car!!.. ' yes love I sold the car, funds are in my savings account nicely accruing interest towards the house purchase..what's that, the padlock on the garage, lot of break-ins in the area, can't be too careful....what's that love, where's the key, I've lost it babe, it's so secure even I can't get in'......... Missus: ' hello, is that the Police..I think my bloke has dead people in the garage!'...
  12. Yep, pretty much the only one of my cars I ever get in..have utmost faith in it and would drive it anywhere
  13. ..if he ever does a Corrado you just know we will all be on here slating him as he does some unsympathetic Maxpower type mod, or gives it a carbon wrap!!.. Or gets Mr Edd to make it a 3 trike!
  14. Sensational looking Storm, not many around with less mileage than this. Keep it standard and fettled and you will be on a winner long term . My ideal is to get such a car as yours and solely run it for shows/ sunny summer days, and have my everyday honest VR to just enjoy all year in all weathers. I am not precious about my very clean car, but think I would be if I owned one as good as yours
  15. Have been looking around YouTube a bit recently. I absoloutely love the Evo Diaries etc. However, have noticed there doesn't appear to be much UK Corrado owner action/videos on there?!.. Lots of US/ Euro stuff, but not much GB!..You know the sort of thing, a guide round the car, then a GoPro type camera mounting inside on a blast down a favourite road/ tunnel or on a particularly arduous RoadTrip. I am seriously looking to get one of these and then edit some Harry Metcalfeesque reports!.. ..anyone on here got any camera kit or done any recording of memorable drives etc
  16. If I was going to go larger than standard it would have to be 16/17" Speedlines..or maybe the BBS Multi spokes, but as already stated they are terribly fiddly to clean (had the Xspoke style RC041s 17" on my E36 Beemer Vert), which puts me off having them again
  17. Fitted two Thule 591s on my original Roofbars, and didn't paint my lovely original Speedlines a horrific colour
  18. I have ultimately regretted selling every Corrado that I have owned. In future I only intend to sell one after buying another!..you will be back!!..
  19. popped into the local Youngs pub in my village for a pint With the Swans this afternoon, parked up next to a mk3 Golf Cabriolet, table of young dudes/dudetes with dreadlocks giving admiring looks in my ( cars) direction..got drink and came out to beer garden, cute lil blonde from the group engaged me in conversation regarding the car. Said she loved the look and wished that VW had made a Convertible version. It was her Golf I parked next to. Passed an hour or so of my aimless wanderings chatting to them about cars in the sun
  20. Picked up some fresh mirror glass from Halfrauds ( took a week to come in- allegedly the company manufactures to order, which would explain the £25 cost!) and fitted it over the old original chipped ones. Good snug fit and they havent fallen off yet!!..It's just standard flat glass, I wanted to get the blue tinted anti-dazzle glass but could only source from Germany which would have been well over €100 delivered!..
  21. I sold it to a chap who lived south of Reigate ( Surrey) around autumn 2010. The car was a rare spec, in that it was Classic Green with beige leather, but it wasn't a Storm.. ---------- Post added at 7:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:50 PM ---------- Yeah, that all seems about right. I can't be specific on the mileage when I had it, but it was 70 something...guy who bought it off me wasnt sure either, he was a confirmed G60 man who just wanted a daily.. ..eBay buyer eh, that never fills me with confidence!..
  22. I always feel let down by politicians. The classic case is Prescott. When in opposition a snarling, snorting hater of corruption and all things Tory. After a few months in power he was worse than the most out of touch grasping Tory. He used to spit bullets at shenanigans like he and his Labour cronies got up to once in Government. No politician ever really changes anything because all they care about is the 4 year cycle and staying on the gravy train ( whilst lining up future directorships), the long term good of the country rarely comes into it unfortunately
  23. I bought it from TCS around summer 2005, it had done approx 77k miles when I got it with only a couple of previous owners. I sold it to a chap (who owned a G60 and bought it for a daily) from my office in Notting Hill Gate. I only owned it for a few months, but really liked it, was in sensationql condition when I had it. I only sold it because just bought a Range Rover and didn't have the space for it at the time
