  1. Thanks, but at that level I will keep it to go with a car at sale time. It is a great unit in as new condition- just I am an Alpine man!..£80 plus postage is a minimum, it will not go any lower. Thanks for your interest though
  2. Received mine this morning, very impressed. I had to use a bit of sticky-backed felt and a couple of dots of super glue to get it to sit secure and flush in mine, but it looks and feels excellent in situe. Just heading out, going via Nero's (other coffee shops are available) to road test it! Will be requiring a spare (in black) off you in a week or two.
  3. 100% the right decision to do the work, as long as you are going to now endeavour to keep it on the road and not let it slide again?!.. there will come a time when most of these cars are beyond help, probably from rust if mines anything to go by!..until then keep it on the road
  4. I have just paid (yesterday) £165 for the original genuine VW roofbars. The last set before this purchase that I saw was the Votex set on eBay last month which sold for well over £100, I think it was about 140/160. I was bidding on those but didn't go high enough. If you had posted last week I would have had them off you!.. Best of luck anyway
  5. Was in the local VW dealer for a couple of bits and the Service Manager was waxing lyrical about the C, saying how the lines still look so right and how much he misses seeing them around the place these days. I had a look round the current Scirocco again, and whilst I would have styled it somewhere closer to the Corrado, I am coming round to think I may buy one of these in the future as a daily. Anyway relationship cemented with the local VAG Service and Parts guys, should make life easier..
  6. For sale is the high-end Pioneer DEH-P77MP stereo that I have just removed from the Corrado I have recently bought. it is a very slick and stylish well-engineered unit with a brushed aluminium finish and a white lighting scheme. I believe this unit was from the 2004 range. I have replaced it with my arguably inferior Alpine unit that I put in all my cars. This unit is in immaculate condition and was over £400 in the shops in 2004!. It looks as new and feels new when you use it. The controls have a lovely damped feel and it is very easy to use. It comes with the original box, packaging and cardboard interior. There are several Instruction Manuals, Warranty Booklet, Wiring Loom that fits Corrado/ VW, bolts, screws and Removal Tools, Metal HiFi Cage, Facia surround and facia-unit box. The front face plate does, of course, detach from the main unit for security. The CD slot is hidden behind the front plate. Specification as follows: -MP3/WMA Playback with ID3 Tag -CDR/ CDRW Compatible -Multi CD Control Function -AF, PS, TA, PTY -3 Band Equaliser -6.5v HiVolt 3 Preouts -MOSFET 50Wx4 -CD Text -Designed for Windows Media -RDS -LCD Display Sensational sound quality, much better than the unit that I have replaced it with! Ready to install in your Corrado...make me an offer on this very cool piece of kit.. Best offer around £100 secures Item located in South-London/ Surrey...or can deliver for appropriate petrol money.
  7. Maybe someone else then after all, as I'm not usually out of bed by 5 pm!!..I am around this neck of the woods though- usually after dark (like Batman! )
  8. ..maybe you were..my dark blue C also frequents Purley/Woodmansterne area as I live in Carshalton Beeches.
  9. I really want that car, actually I just want virtually every VR6 that I see for sale! Trying desperately to justify to myself running 2 of them when I don't really need one!
  10. a nice original looking red C coming off Kingston bridge towards Hampton about 11.30pm today. From the wheels I think it may have been a G60? Anyway, it looked really stunning and sparkly, in great condition-of course that may just have been due to the twinkly lighting around the river! Anyone on here?
  11. That story is the sort of find I dream of. A car that hasn't just sat in a garage, but one that has the right kind of history and owner..and one who doesn't want £10k for the privilege! Well done, I am very envious
  12. 35, though unfortunately act like 19!..on my fourth VR6, five Corrados in total. Bought first Corrado, a 1994 2.0 16v aged 25 and sold that to buy a V8 RangeRover! Owned current car for just over a month. Before this had been out of them for a couple of years. Longest I have owned one was 2 years which was the first VR6. Really regret selling that first VR6 which cost me a steep £6k in 2007 from Volkscars ( 30th birthday present to myself). It was a stunning, immaculate 95 in AquaBlue with only 75k miles...getting nostalgic, should never have sold it. Gonna try and keep this one (till an immaculate manual car presents itself), as it is in pretty good nick and fairly original bar a few bits of paintwork. Wish I was old enough to have bought one new, or nearly new..unfortunately the run out year (95) was my first year at Uni, and a Golfmk2 Driver was all I could stretch to!
  13. I will definitely have them. I have sent you a PM. Thanks
  14. ..or any set of roofbars in good condition that will fit?!..
  15. Ditto..mine is pretty tidy apart from some paintwork blemishes/ minor rust. I keep debating whether to go on 'prison rations' for a month and get mine a glass out respray!..if those 6little numbers came up I think I would just about corner the UK market in decent Corrados and 993 Porkers too!..
  16. I should have spotted that seeing as my current 96 VR Auto is also midnight blue !!..always mean to stop and have a proper look at yours, but it looks great from a distance.
  17. don't see many others out and about in the Surrey area. The only other VR6 that I regularly see is always parked up off of one of the main roads into Kingston, on my route to work. A very nice looking original black example, think the reg plate ends CCC, a 95 or 96 car..seeing it idaily is part of the reason I bought another (my 5th) recently. Whoever you are thanks for that
  18. I remember seeing it for sale with TCS and really wish I had bought it now! I bought a 16 valves off them in the past and it was a really good un
  19. Neighbour two houses down was walking past whilst I was out cleaning the C yesterday. He waved as usual, but then shouted over that he was glad to see I was driving a Corrado again ( I have owned a BMW Convertible for the last 2 years). I cannot believe I spent so long away from Corrado ownership, but it's nice when somebody neutral ( he drives a Landcruiser Amazon!) validates my decision.
  20. Think there are probably a fair few similar cars. Mine shows as having PDI on 22/12/95, then it was delivered on 02/01/96, in the V5 Date of First Registration shows as 04/01/96. Can't see anything specific giving a build date though. Maybe it is on the car? PDI date probably equates to the build date
  21. I am after a set of roofbars for my VR6. I would ideally like the original Votex OEM ones. I wondered if anybody on here has a set they no longer need, or knows where I can buy them? Failing that a set of bars that are good quality and fit perfectly? Thanks if you can help
  22. I would be very interested in a cup holder for my VR6. Could you let me know the details by PM? I would need one in black.
