thing is i use the car as a daily and cant really do with the car being of the road at all, let me know how u get on with the hoses?

ive not try them yet, im gona try using mk3 gti golf hoses (as i know they fit the caliper)....should work

funny, you brought this up, im doing the same as we speak, vr6 or gti mk 3 are 280mm at the front. I just got mine today from the scrappy £10 both sides.......back of the net......you just need hoses and g60 280mm discs

if u were in bham, i got a good guy that repairs starter and alters for cheap....brand new parts and warranty.

also found some pics of my recent engine rennovation /rebuild. The manifold took me 6 bloody hours to wrap :mad2: . it was a right sh#*@y job 'cos i had the wrap in a bucket of water and it was graphite impregnated. I looked like i had been up a chimney :lol: was worth it in the end though.

Rebuild spec;

JE forged Pistons

Lightened flywheel

new shells and bearings

fully rebuilt and ported head

new water pump

new dizzy and all ignition parts

new alternator

all new belts

stainless 4 branch wrapped manifold

exhaust customised to fit (two boxes)

lots of painted and powdercoated bits

loving the pics......i want to do something like this......cant be asked thou lol

at the front, put it under the subframe, where the anti roll bar goes through.

 

at the rear, put it on the rear axle pivot, or immediatelty in front of it.

 

DON'T EVER JACK ON THE SILLS OR THE FLOORPAN. you'll bend it and scrape off the underseal.

good lord, give the guy a break.....

mate if i was closer, i'd do it for you.

strip of the bits and panel.......

get yourself a plastic sheet (anything works i.e im a cop, i used large evidence bags.....black bags can be used)

then get urself sum spray glue....glue the metal and stick the bag down, pressing firmly making sure it seal all the way around.....

AND/OR

check the door seal for splits....and the door plastic sill aswell....... if damage, this maybe where it leeks in.

not to be funny, any1 thought to grease the runners (bottom of window) as these gather dirt, ie not running smoothly........and spray sum WD40 down the side rubber runners? ie help the go up and down....... :salute:

Im pretty sure that the later bonnet won't line up just as it should with the early wings/front panel etc...It will physically bolt on though.
