  1. Yeh, I spoke to Tom earlier (my car's in on Wed night), and he said my old car was in and they thought it was the dizzy. Hope it gets sorted.
  2. I'd agree- go for a Passat or Octavia estate. We've got a vRS and it's superb- has a huge boot and extremely practical, yet it's quick, nice to look at, nice interior too.
  3. Hope Rich sorts it for you- keep us posted.
  4. Some definately had that set up from the factory- I'm assuming it was mainly older cars though. I've had two K reg VR6s, one of each setup. The hose that goes from the head to the carbon canister (Boj's has melted) is defo a factory item and doesn't have the kind of 'T-piece' that connects to the top of the PCV breather valve.
  5. Boj, looks like you got the early set-up on your car- mine was the same. I've since replaced it with the later flametrap etc (parts from Ford). I've still got the old hose which is in good nick. Drop me PM if you want it gratis :) .
  6. Sorry mate- didn't read properly. So it still cut out even when you had it at high idle? I would get some sort of fan heater in there and just leave it on for an hour or so.
  7. Have you adjusted the throttle cable to keep the revs higher? Had to do this to stop it from stalling.
  8. Hi Andy! Sounds like the metering head has ingested some water :( This also happened to me when I owned it. The way I sorted it (with lots of advice from people), was by resetting the throttle cable so it idled higher, preventing stalling. Then pulling one of the sensors out from the side of the metering head- think it was the side next to the wing. I drove the car for an hour (it was really horrible to drive) and the heat from the engine dried everything out. Plugged sensor back in and it was absolutely fine. I would also spray loads of WD40 around the metering head to disperse any water. HTH! Keep us posted.
  9. Yep, would check the fuel pump relay. Also clean the ISV and make sure the sponge from the ISV damper pot hasn't been sucked into one of the hoses. Happened with mine- kept stalling when cold, but wasn't too bad once warmed up.
  10. Guys, I would defo change your fuel filter as a precaution. It's only a 15 minute job, and a new filter is under a tenner.

Have heard that Stealth charge around £20 for the fitting kit (silicon hose). Just get one off Ebay for £3.99- it's what I've done and it works a treat. Slightly cheaper!
  13. Ha! New I recognised it- it was starting to bug me! Seen it parked up a few times. Next time I'm down visiting my mate, I may pop over for a quick hello- awesome looking C, by the way 8)
  14. She's looking absolutely cracking, Michael! Nice work- liking the grille 8) Any improvement with the throttle body?
  15. Mate, do you live in Onslow by any chance? If so, I've seen your car a couple of times (my mate lives just down the road- he's got a silver vRS estate).
  16. Have a look at the bottom of this page.
  17. Either paint them all red yourself, or get some of the darker, de-blinged smoked/red ones from http://www.arz-tuning.de - got them on mine and love 'em.
  18. Black or dark metallic grey would look 8)
  19. I got a repro one from http://www.arz-tuning.de It's not OEM, but is identical. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless you looked at the markings on the back.

    VR6 ISV

It's missing the damper pot, which you don't necessarily need anyway.
  21. Blimey! Noticed any improvement since tightening them up? Just get the sensors direct from VAG. Ford may do them too, and if they do, they'll be cheaper ;)
  22. Finally got round to sorting my calipers as the previous owner decided to paint over the previous red paint with.... sky blue! Have done the fronts black- didn't have time to do the rears- will hopefully get around to that sometime this week.
  23. Cupra-R looks sooooo much better imho 8) Very tuneable too.
