  1. Would the later coil pack leads work on a distributor car?
  2. I've seen a coil pack set available from a German VAG dealer
  3. Hi all - I know these are expensive from VAG, but does anyone have the correct part numbers for a set of ignition leads for an early VR6 with dizzy, including the small lead from the coil to the distributor? I've looked at the catalogue, but it only seems to show a set for later cars with coilpacks, with the other leads being listed individually. Cheers
  4. There's a special tool - it's like an open socket - search for lambda/02 removal tool.
  5. Any DIY shop will have clear polythene sheeting for painting etc.

Both are the same. It's a terminal extraction tool you need - VW use two sizes for most of their connectors. VW will also sell you repair wires with the blade terminal on them.

Are you trying to source new connectors or do you just want to see the wiring to the OEM ones?
  12. You can get ones that fit the later cars - check out my member's thread to see how it looks.
  13. It's in the wiki - VR6 ECU reset procedure under Engine.
  14. I replaced my belt and the whole tensioner unit with VAG replacements - sourced from Germany, so a bit cheaper. It's not worth taking the risk, as Kev says, it's not only the bearings that go over time, but the springs in the tensioner as well.
  15. Mine stayed on without ignition and ran down the battery - replacing the rad switch solved it.
  16. Other thing to check is the fan switch in the radiator itself.
  17. Also check the engine and gearbox mounts as these can lead to sloppy shifting if worn. Just had mine replaced and made a huge difference. There is a special tool from VAG for aligning the gearshift lever, but most mechanics do it by feel. - I have one, so if anyone in Ireland wants to use it, PM me.

    Rear callipers

Check to see if the callipers move freely on their two mounts with the pads removed - there are two bushings in there, and they should slide easily. Rear brake pad sets often come with a tube of grease for this very purpose. It's a known issue with VW callipers.
  19. The German dealer fit Gamma IVs had green illumination and look really OEM. Still available on German fleabay.
  20. Are these for a late car? I would be interested if they are.
  21. I used Redline MT-90 in mine - check out page 3 of my member's thread for a quick how-to http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=55703&page=3&highlight=shark

    Vr6

Looks like a rare find - best of luck with it.
  23. Part#078133534C fuel pressure regulator costs €50.98 for a Bosch one here. I paid around that for a VAG one.
