took mine out as vr is bein resprayed anyway .did it with bio tex ,mine did bubble up but it dryed back fine, used the same on sunvisers aswell :)

guess this is common problem then with bodged fitted windscreen !!! :mad2: no wonder mines shot .....at least guys at sprayshop can make up new pillars n sort it :)

does anyone know if they are prone to rusting out? mine are totaly gone ,is it common? thanks rob

forgot to say they might have to take the dash out aswell because of the welding ,the only other option is to use a fire blanket to stop any damage being caused ,but they obviously dont like doin that.

spoke to guys at sprayshop today ,im not a happy bunny :( .the windscreen seemed to be comin out fine until it got stuck the reason for this is because the person who fitted it used god knows how much sealent (wondered why a pillars would not come out).it was all glued up n in a right two n eight.hence eventualy it broke,they then discovered the pillars are rotted out because of poor fittin :mad2: :mad2: .so they now have to cut out rot n make up new bits to fit usin new windscreen as a template to insure proper fitting this time ,should have pics soon rob

hi dubstar the job is bein done by country restorations have a look at my members bit ,there doin a sweeet job so far :)

i only intend to use it for long trips ,round town should be fine,the vr is in bath bein sorted n thats a good 120 miles from me no way im drivin down m4 m5 without it! ive saved n swetted to long n hard for it to be feckd by the time im home,ive heard they can cause damage so spoke to sprayshop geezers n they said todays modern paints should be fine i hope so!

just ordered full gimp mask for me vr as its comin back from sprayshop in a few weeks ,nearly £2000.00 large spent ,i'd proberbly cry at the first stone chip!! takin no chances for longer trips :)

yea the ones that go around the door shiney black ones bout 10mm wide i might need em ,my doors were rusted underneath em .the sprayshop said they would try to heat them up when re fittin but bobbles n misshapin might not come out
