yea matt nice to see progress every week as said the windscreen geezer should be there on monday ,once out they can sort the roof n tailgate ,think thats goin back to the metal aswell because of continuous blow ins.the guys seem very thorough ,i didnt know that if you stripped paint back to metal you have to treat it before you go home for the night because it gets contaminated over night .will have more pics next friday.

forgot to say work is being done by country restorations in bath,well happy so far :clap:

got some more pics today from the guys at the spray shop

front end bumper has been smoothed as has rear badge holes and the two joins

above the bumper also repairs done to windows underneath the old rubbers.

Car is near to completion of rub down and will be going into the spray booth

have read through thread,as i have a few probs.just before me vr was taken off the road for respray it overheated ,its since been serviced and we replaced thermostat,but when we left car running to warm oil up before changing the fans were cutting in just above or around 70d mark ?,is this due to the crusty plugs that were mentioned? or is this ok i cant take the c for a run till i get it back ,was a bit worried bout the 120 mile trip back to my house when me c is ready thanks rob

thanks chris yea they said it might do ,if it does it does ,could not get a pillers out because they were welded to windscreen!! so had to leave them flappin about when me n nate removed headlining,like you say atleast it will be done properly 8)

got some pics today from the sprayshop ,they rang aswell to say the paint aint to clever,i new it had been blown in but as the pic that looks like the rings of a tree shows its been blown in more than once :( .the bonnet had to be taken back to bare metal ,the roof ,wings n tailgate will be taken back to at least primer stage because they did not want to go over original paint because of pitting n stuff,they said its up to me if i want to run the risk of it repeating the same thing in two or so years time.so out comes the windscreen and rear screen so they can be taken right back,i want a proper job done and they can garantee paint job aswell.at this stage they have been great, impressed with correspondence from them sending pics and explaning any probs they have fully with me before going ahead with work.they also said the bloke they use is there tommorow and will remove windscreen n rear screen. there will only be extra cost if windscreen breaks ,which bein a pig to get out sometimes they do ,anyway heres the pics.

glad you got the c back mate. makes me so angry that these tossers can go around doin what they want without much fear from old bill.when i was in london the smaller car dealers used to have german shepherds in there small holdings ,they also used to leave one in the car they drove to the pub in ,if they were to george list to drive home,now only the most stupid of thieves would try to nick that! better than an alarm anyday of the week!.hope you get things sorted soon.

nearly 145000 on mine ,has not been runnin for 7 months as sorn n stripped down for respray .was serviced last sunday ready for sprayshop [wanted it runnin ] first turn of the key she fired up everbody commented how smooth it sounded :clap:
