  1. Blue Pearl 'rado with blacked out VW front badge heading from rodley roundabout with the handcarwash up towards the horsforth roundabout/esso petrol station? Looked like a fairly young guy, gave the thumbs up I was heading the other way.
  2. Not an ideal angle, sticks out about 1.5" from memory, does look like it sticks out a bit far, but rather it stick out a little bit far than set fire to the bumper! I'll see if I can snap a side on if I remember before work.
  3. Black 'rado, Roker Lane in Pudsey, Leeds? Anyone on here? There's like 4 of us in a smallish town with corrado's
  4. Some companies will mirror your ncb accross two cars if one is going to be a sole weekend car,
  5. I thought tracker used radio signals? We do trackers recovery after theft service for when the customer isn't able to collect their own car or hand keys to police and for it to be driven. Dealt with maybe 1 or 2 in the few years we've been doing them? Tracker does leave car theives paranoid though, which is why they'll park up cars over a few days and leave them before returning.
  6. I'm insured with Flux, policy is underwritten by Highways Insurance (LV) think a few other people are insured through Chris Knott with the same underwriter. It's worth asking if you can mirror your NCB, but beware you loose it on one policy then it goes for both!
  7. swapped my top rad hose over for a new piece of fuel line hose as a temp measure after it decided it no longer wanted to act as a hose, but as a sprinkler! Just need to find out how to drain the coolant now... Also swapped one of my headlights over to a facelift model one, need to swap the internals from the other side into my old headlight as that one has completely buggered clips. Just keep on working through... fixing one little niggle at a time
  8. Try going: Right Click on the image file -> Open with... You should then be able to browse to the Elements folder c:/program files/adobe/photoshop elements/organiser.exe or something along those lines. You can use this as well to set this as the default program associated with that file type as well.
  9. Still a kick in the teeth when I have a clean licence and as many ncb as him though It wouldn't surprise me if the quotes end up being a bit more than what I'm paying as a youngun on my corrado,
  10. There are specialist insurance companies out there, but some of them do charge very high prices! But then again, my friend who's the same age as me was paying £200 less a year for insurance on a similar cost/group car in the same postcode area and he had an SP30 on his licence, so you may very well find a decent quote yet. It's gonna hang around on your licence for the next 10 - 11 years too from memory as well, expensive night out... What insurance group is the VR6 anyways? the 1.8 16v is like group 15 from memory...
  11. You mean you don't have a roadkill recycling bin? I'm dissappointed that your uni isn't truly committed to being green...
  12. I'm insured through LV/Highway with flux, and they were okay with me, I'm only insured tpft so my claim from my focus is being dealt with by lawyers. Still up the swanny and the accident happened at the end of december! I hope they up their offer again mate, and that you get rolling again soon!
  13. there are 2 blue pearl codes, LC5U and LC5Z, not sure what the difference is though.
  14. Could have sworn I ordered one of these a fortnight ago! Alas, turns out I didn't! Time for me to actually spend some money.
  15. I think compare the market have a valuation thing when you go to set up a quote... Failing that, just use we buy any car valued mine at £395, and my friends year younger golf (much more mint than mine) at £50!
  16. I think I might have gotten one yesterday... Bloke started waving a chainsaw though, so I didn't stay to chat
  17. stretch.

    MPG

Get about 22-26mpg in town, and 40 or thereabouts on the motorway... I blame the city centre tunnels in Leeds for my poor mpg
  18. Spotted another flash red 'rado this time in my home town! Sure love corrado's in Leeds it would seem, Galloway Lane, Pudsey, anyone? Seem to spot loads but I'm never spotted!
  19. Flash red, J Reg, didn't catch what flavour it was though but slowed down so I could catch up with them was yesterday at about 11:30 am on the road from the a64 towards Colton/garforth/Temple Newsam in Leeds. Have to say the car looked nice! Anyone on here?
  20. Hah tell me about it! My 'rado is a few months older than me! I was winding my eldest brother up (he's 11 years older than me so the c' was his teenage car crush ) by telling him I'd bought a porsche 944. His face lit up when he saw it was a corrado! heh bless 'im!
  21. I did mention them being for the rear in my post  I'll let you off though, because I forgot the name for the axle spacer thingymajigs! Just obviously there's always the concern of if you're spacing the wheel away from the hub itself you're placing more load on the bolts when that load would have usually been carried partially by the hub itself,
  22. Are you not able to get hub centric spacers for the rear to push the hub out by the extra? I know it's common on fords...
  23. Such as? I must admit I'm concerned about resale value. But I'm getting the impression my possible purchase might be a good long term car. Just the odd hose that's perishing, and some slight oil seepage from the rocker gasket and a clattery pulley, some brake issues, stuff that would've been sorted if it was somebody's daily I should imagine, nothing really worry worthy really, just an excuse to get handy with the socket set I treated myself to at christmas
  24. Makes sense about the alarm thing, The car has a tp immobilisor so I guess that would've been the bracket for the (now non existant) siren... I wondered why I couldn't set the alarm off Thanks for the infor about the gasket and the pulley set up, I'll have to have another root around next time I get some spare time, see if I can sort out that damned noise! :D
  25. Okay, so I've been pottering about my car for the last few weeks just sorting little jobs here and there, and I've decided to go ahead and takle a slow coolant leak I seem to have somewhere, Can't find any obvious leaky pipes, the one from the top of the rad to the bottle seems a little perished but still holds up to the pressure, all the other bits of pipework seem fine, albeit a bit... grimy. So while looking for said potenital leak, I've unearthed a huuuuge amount of oily grime, it's got to the point where it now feels like wet felt! Most of it seems to be concentrated to the right hand side of the block, so I'm wondering if this is just potentially the culmination of 20 years of road grime or possibly something more sinister? I've cleared a lot of the crap off and aim to keep my eye out for any weeps but is there anything I should be potentially looking out for? Oil is still golden and stays at a pretty much static level and there's no sign of emulsification under the cap. There also seems to be a loud rattling noise, according to the previous owner this is something to do with alternator shims? Anyone come across this before or is it something I'm gonna have to catch a sound clip of to help? Also found a bracket and a plug on the firewally near the arm thingy... looks like this: I also seem to have an awful lot of clear rubber tubing around the airbox area for some reason... And I plugged my rear wash tube back in, only to find that wasn't the cause of the failure to clean!
