  1. Thanks for replies guys. I was tempted to go G60 originally, but having looked into it and being a bit of a tight arse, it sickens me to think of throwing almost £500 every couple of years at it for charger rebuilds. After my OP and reading it back, for the amount of milage I will be doing, I suppose a VR could be a viable option. Will be looking into this as well now then! Thanks for info on the 16v Swiftkid, I didnt realise its a simple enough cam change on the 2.0 to get it up to scratch, and I know what you mean about the body and interior. Is the 2.0 lump the same, or based on the Mk3 lump? Just wondering as there are obviously lots of spares and a wealth of knowlege on other forums regarding these engines so thats a little extra comfort. Deffinately food for thought here now, thanks again! :thumbleft:

  2. Hi all, Hope you dont mind that I dont own one yet, but want to get a feel for which would be the best choice and what to look out for before I take the plunge! I live in Plymouth, and have only really been into VAG (or modding and tinkering anyway) for about a year. I currently have a Mk3 golf GTI :bonk:, but its helped me build up my confidence with having a good old play around, without it being a great loss if I really cock things up if I do something wrong. I'm on a few other VW forums (GolfGTI, SWDubs, ClubGTI) etc..... and only really took notice of Corrados after seeing a few modded ones on there. Have to say, I fell in love with em and cant stop thinking about em recently! :luvlove:

Probs been asked a million times, but couldnt find it on a search, and probs better off in another section, but which is best to get out of the 1.8 and 2.0 16V? I think these are my best options, as it will be used as a commuter a couple of days a week (only half a dozen miles each way) when the missus need her car too. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :thumbleft:
