  2. Glad he was ok!

I'm glad no one was coming the other way!!!!

If he knew the first basics of good performance driving he'd have known that you drive within the limits of the road conditions. If he didn't know that the road surface was good, then he shouldn't have been driving like he was!

Some may think I'm being harsh saying this, but think of it another way. If you wife, daughter, son, mother, father, brother, sister, etc had been innocently coming the other way and been killed by this idiot, then your view on "accidents" like this would be the same as mine.

Sorry, but there are far too many "boy racers" on the roads who haven't got a clue on how to drive correctly and believe that they are far better than they actually are!

  3. The way Bieber is carrying on, he'll soon meet an untimely end and do the world a favour. The tattooed f'ck really fancies himself as a modern day James Dean doesn't he?

I can't stand the little f****r and I keep my fingers crossed that he does meet an untimely end, sooner rather than later.

This pseudo "gangsta" rubbish the youth of today seem to follow and aspire to just makes them look like the sad clueless fools they are. All they seem to do is take selfies for Foolbook and Twatter and make stupid gun signs with their hands!

So the UK isn't going down the pan, it's already got there!

  4. Yes the links are Polybushed, they look like the purple Powerflex ones.

    Diameter is 22mm.

I do like Devon Custard, but I wasn't planning on coming down to Devon for a holiday.

As for getting a shipping price, you're more than welcome to arrange your own courier.

  5. I would assume the washer dropped into cylinder 5 and caused the problem. The marks on the cylider head may have been caused by the washer as it was being thrown around and squashed.

The valve does look bent in the picture, but that may have been just the camera angle making it appear bent.

Check the valve seats on the head for cylider 5 as any fragments of foreign metal can get caught inbetween the valve and valve seat and cause a mis fire and rough running due to the valve not seating correctly and losing compression.

  6. Why do these idiots wear these trousers/shorts/track bottoms that are designed to fall down?

Do they think they look cool?

Do they think they look like gangsters?

If I was in power they would be banned from being worn in public!!

  9. I like the way you've done the front struts and using non progressive springs is imho a very good idea. I'll be interested to hear how it rides and handles. When I ditched the progressive springs on mine it was much better.

Then had a play with the front struts:

I have a pair of Koni height and ride adjustable coilover bodies without springs that have been rebuilt by Koni's for the front and a pair of koni height and ride adjustable standard spring bodies for the rear.

I bought some AVO no progressive springs to go on them so I have a matched set of springs front and rear so have taken the cups from a set of shocks I got given to put on the front coilovers.

They seem to sit ok, I just need to get the correct top plates (the shocks I was given were from a caddy van so different top plates) then form a way to lock the cups to the adjusters.

    New springs :)

P.S. if anyone has a good reason as to why this spring / coilover combo wont work, please tell.

  10. I have one going up for sale shortly. It's in A1 condition with no dents, leaks and it's OE. It doesn't even have any of the usual dead flying insects stuck to it!

    See attached pics.

  11. The big plus though is they wont rust

Neither will steel ones if you keep the rust protection they come with in good nick.

Think of it another way, if the wings and other exterior visible panels on a Corrado (or any car) are rotten, then what condition will the rest of the unseen metal be in?

In the 80's and 90's a common trick used by cowboys used to be to hide rot behind nice shiny bodykits.....Have a think about it.

  12. Are the Carbon Fibre wings real Carbon Fibre?

As for GRP wings, not sure if they are such a good idea on a Corrado. Won't you get the front end flexing under load? Or are the wings on a Corrado not structural and load bearing?

As far as I'm aware a Corrado was designed to have pressed steel wings and panels. So it never had Carbon Fibre, GRP, Clay, Wood, Straw, Cotton, Wool, Polyester, Rubber, Latex, etc, wings or panels.

  13. Hi Redfox, how's things buddy?

Your car is looking great and it's nice to see that you're still doing things properly with great attention to detail.

I've never had the idling problem myself on any VW's I've owned, but a mate of mine has started to have the same problem on his. I suspect it's an air leak somewhere. I'll let you know if I find out any more.

My initial advice is to check the simple non expensive things first and you may get a quick simple fix!
