the noise you can hear is the auxilary water pump,the problem could be with your alarm immobiliser or a faulty ignition switch

umm i think car thieves know how to remove locking wheel nuts a lot quicker than anyone on here http://www.dynomec.co.uk/

some tyre dealers will have a set of locking wheel nut removers,or you could smack a slightly smaller socket over the locking nut then undo it

Mk3 is slightly better, but still pants, Mk4 have a re-designed mech and they're made of alloy so they work properly and keep working too 8) so far :)
