  1. Yes mate! The alternator pivots on two bolts attaching it to the block, loosen these. The top alternator attachment is a long slotted bracket with a large lock-nutted and toothed adjustment bolt which engages in some teeth on the bracket. Loosen the lock nut, adjust tension by rotating the bolt with the teeth on and then lock off the bolt and tighten the pivot bolts. The belt's at the correct tension when you can only twist it through 90 degrees. 8)
  2. No idea what the prob may be but mine has always done the 30-or-so-second double lock thing but only once each time as far as I know.
  3. I like the idea of a USB HU or one with Bluetooth from my n95, Bloody HU is fine though and can't justify the expense just yet. Old Alpine cassette one with cd-changer, but the changer has started skipping a bit ......... after 9 years
  4. It certainly looks that way   Did the problem suddenly occur then or had it got progressively bad to a point you noticed/were bothered by it. Sounds like it had been cacking up for some time if the dirt looked part of the sensor! It's always nice when it's an easy and Cheap fix.
  5. I don't know specifially about G60s but Gwerks is who i'd go to with one! I think doing it yourself is okay from what i've read if you've got the right tools & don't scrimp on parts. Others will answer the rest of the questions!
  6. Pleasure gentlemen :salute: Why d'you need that measurement then??? Putting something else in?
  7. About 131cm. BRRRRRRR it's chilly out there!
  8. Yeah RaddoMan don't take it personally but anyone who writes a long sentence with no punctuation to make it read properly tends to get a bit of a ribbing, as do people who insist on using text speak. If someone can't be bothered to express themselves clearly most people switch off because there's lots of people that can bothered to be understood with problems too. Chill out and hang around there's loads of info available. Sense of humour helps
  9. So what was the problem then????? The idea is to share information!!
  10. Don't hold your breathe though - they don't do replacement pressure gauges for their foot pumps, Arse.
  11. It would be crazy not to try topping up the oil level before deciding to buying a new one!
  12. Cross member is bolt off bolt on as far as I know.
  13. No mate sorry only a 7 slat
  14. That or the alternator belt which is dead accessible and easy to adjust!!
  15. Trees totally rock, if you have a choice aim for a wall!!!!audi_rs6_Zip.zip[/attachment:f5g7pm9g]
  16. yes please mate :) how much do you want for it Sorry mate somehow this thread stopped hitting my e.mail radar, I photographed the badge and then never posted back! Anyhow how about £10 posted?vw badge (Large).jpg[/attachment:2nfffc2u] Colin
  17. These were still available from the stealers for not too much, gotta be worth a try. If not get some black high density foam and trim to fit!
  18. They'rrrrrrreeee great. Get some fitted. 8)
  19. I tried some aero blades which fitted straight on the standard arms, from local dealer. The standard arms/springs just weren't strong enough to hold a 100% contact with the screen - approx 70% drvivers & 50% passenger side. [to be fair to the dealer - he gave me full refund!] It's deffo the arms that cause the prob - I'll be going for the full TT setup. Yeah I've had the Lupo set-up for sometime myself, just giving options! Apparently non aero lupo arms with retro blades are better than standard C as well as a cheaper option If I need to do it again I'll prob go TT!
