  1. Yeah I think you'd have issues at MOT time!
  2.   8) Looking good!
  3. The squeaking will be the fan motor bearings. I find that if I drop out the motor and tap the Fan down onto the spindle it stops the noise by reloading the bearings!! Can't help with dial probs mines early type. Try removing the ducting from the fan and touching the matrix and see if it gets hot. If it isn't hot that's your problem.
  4. Around 34mpg with a mix of motorway and town. Can get up to 48 mpg but that was motorway with a spacesaver tyre fitted! Could just be the spring assembly on the throttle body gunged up, try cleaning it up too.
  5. Consistantly lowest place for me for the last 10 years. Have managed to push them down the last two years but still happy, totally wrapped my no fault parking damage case within 6months which is quick!  Very good.
  6. if you get this done find somewhere that is willing to weld in metal strips and skim them, don't get them filled! I eventually found a classic car restorer that did it for me. Get the rear hatch hinge-covers colour coded they look great 8)

    Fuel Leak??

simple and easy -- what a refreshing change!
  8. Anyone know a number for the pressed metal nuts. My Stealers had no joy, although I couldn't see it on the screen either! Would be a load better than the old self tapper!
  9. Yes mate, no worries, it's so much better than mine   8)
  10. New bits are fun!! 8) I'd be interested in that cross member when you're ready, my looks like swiss cheese attacked by mice!!
  11. In my opinion it's a crying shame to have a Corrado that doesn't go round corners!!
  12. I wouldn't have thought so, the later vehicles had a higher boot floor IIRC
  13. Someone on here has moddded the coin holders on the gear lever surround to hold an iPod or similar.
  14. It's a bit tricky to find the stuff online for a '90 valver (often gets listed as 2.0 16v?!) but if you ignore the incorrect photo in this link £320.95 inc.VAT seems quite good, try googling MVW024 (Edit: Don't bother, you get Zero results!). The stealth tailpipe is actually a nice oval. Just make sure the hangers are for hooks not bars. I bought mine online, not sure where from now, and paid an exhaust place £40 or £50 to fit it. 8)
  15. It'll do just to blank off the leak til you get home i should think.
  16. You'll be fine with a 'Cat-back' exhaust. The cat is fitted as part of the down-pipe length so the rest of the exhaust is 'the same'. I've a stainless steel Milltek on my 1990 valver, it's Lurverly!
  17. They're a slightly different shape and style, the older ones are more square and they're not interchangable.
  18. I think they may simply pull off but I have no idea where you'd get transparent ones.
  19.    Ha! Rubbish. I've never heard of a VR breaking down due to the injection system. I think he was talking in relation to the 2.0 16v rather than the VR6 Yes I was, more tuning options on the 2.0 but more to go wrong.
  20. You'll find a large rubber grommet in the middle of the passenger footwell. That's what I used for my cables, just seal it up good and proper and the job's a good'en!
  21. The 1.8 16v has less sensors and stuff to go wrong but boosting output is tricky, due to the, more reliable, mechanical injection system!!!
  22. OVERKILL gets the job done!! 8) Got my Audioscape pods fitted too, now just need a better amp for the front components. A mate of mine had a old ppi amp that he got for £30, but after 15 minutes running it smelt of fish and the right channel dropped out  but it was awesomely loud and clear through my 12 year old misson freeways!! If he can get it fixed i'll have it in a jiffy.
