Thanks Si. That is good to know. I am toying with a few ideas at the minute so am looking at possibly hunting down a shell as a long term "slow" restoration project.

Will do mate, I only have the rubber mould as I said that goes around the screen. Will trry and snap a pic tomorrow for you.

Fortunately for me my guy is good at his job so all the trims came out nicely. I have heard that some fitters will destroy the trims when removing a screen. I bought another rubber moulding, the one that goes along the sies and the top, just in case. Turns out I never needed it so i will sell it on. Need to take pics of all the extra things I have left here. In short though, if the screen gets removed correctly you should be fine.

Just curious more than anything else. I was wondering what a bare shell would cost from a car someone has broken? Important that there be hardly any rust. So essentially I guess just a rolling shell, no doors, bonnet, tailgate etc.......

Well got the windscreen refitted last night. Some rust issues going on under there so we had to reat it forst before refitting, on the plus side I found out where the leak was coming from so have resolved that issue at least. Also fitted the FEBI wiper motor so now we have a decent wiper speed with brand new TT arms and blades :-) Next order of business is the roof liner and sunroof seal i think. Overall I feel happier now that this has been done.

Windscreen refitted. Rust was not critical thank goodness but screen had been poorly fitted previously. Leak should be resolved now thankfully. All treated and good to go thank goodness.

Good to know, will asses this evening and make a decision. Maybe get someone breaking a car to cut that section out so i can weld it in......

So refitting the windscreen tonight. We have the screen out (in one piece thank goodness) and as it is too dark to see the extent of the damage right now we believe there to be a rust issue. Will see tonight when the car is inside the workshop. Not a happy bunny and hoping it aint too bad and fixable. How easy is it to come by a shell that is still in good nick? Might just get one and transplant everything into it or hopefully I can sort it out tonight. Could this explain my wet roofliner?!

Not sure where they would plug in if I am honest. Just checked it was plugged into the switch but after testing it there was no power going to it........

No offence taken mate. Trust me when I tell you I am in no rush to just start ripping things apart. I was just asking that if that is what the cable is for then in all honesty it serves no purpose to me. Is it show season already???!!! I am waaaaay out of touch with this lol. I will wait till a better reply comes along any how as I can't do nothing until next week-end any how.

I don't have a remote with the lock and unlock function so surely I can just cut the wire off that's connected to the door handle too? Struggled for about an hour this morning trying to figure out how to get the darn handle out. Also the rear of the handle (with out the lock barrel) won't come out the door either, how easy is it to remove this?

Any updates on this guys? Had the alarm done today and the led is just hanging there.......

Alarm and radio sorted today. Removed the old toad system and fitted a cobra system, wired up the radio to the speakers and that was all good at last. Fitted the TT arms and blades, happy days!!!

So I got the repair kit for the door handles. Thought I would sort it this morning while the tech was sorting my alarm and stereo. So undid the screw in the door and pulled the front end out, that was as far as I got. the rear wont come out and there seems to be some sort of wire attached to the handle interior so I can't get it out. (Fuming) Is there a how to on here for removing them as I have had a search but no luck. Really annoys me not being able to open my door.

Got a new switch and tried that. Still nothing :-( so now I have no idea what else to look at.

Yeah I realized that a second ago hahahaha. Chaos has suggested I take up other offers as his has the LED glued to the blank so would be no good, so if your offer still stands I would appreciate it.
