16vgt 0 Posted June 8, 2003 hi all- new to the forum... :D just a quick(and irrelevant) question- just bought my first corrado, and have heard that there is a diff betwen a vr6 bonnet and a 1.8 16v bonnet-does anyone know if this is true?? also the headlights are diff? ive owned a fleet of mk2 golfs in the past year- 2 16v's and 2 8v's, and driving the 16v corrado ive picked up now seems really really slow/sluggish compared to the golfs. i am aware that they are heavier and slightly more sluggish than the golf 16v's but is it seriosly that much?? vr6storm 0 Posted June 9, 2003 the vr6 bonnet has a raised bit in the middle whereas all 1.8 16v's and some g-60's have a depression in the middle but most 92 onwards C's will have the "vr6"-style bonnet or as someone on here demonstrated(can't remembr who tho) __----__ vr6 bonnet,92 onwards some g-60's and all 2.0 16v's ---___--- 1.8 16v and some g-60's bonnet pre

Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted June 9, 2003 VR6's also have ever-so-slightly wider front wings too.

chuck 0 Posted June 9, 2003 the c uses a different gearbox, with longer gears. It increases top speed, but sacrifices the acceleration. Its also heavier. I'd only say its slow in traffic, get it going and its a bit of a stormer :D (really need to rev it tho) still does 0-60 in a shade over 8 s, which isn't slow by any standards  I came into C's from a turbo diesel, and it took a while to adapt to a very different driving style (TD all punch under 3000 rpm - 16V all punch over 4000rpm!!)
