juloesG60 0 Posted May 29, 2005 Just wandering whether im about to be possibly hit with the clutch goin, went on my old Mk1, now unsure seems the bitting point is pretty solid and low but then from moving off recently been a bit weird, what kinda milage do the clutches usually go? cheers
Supercharged 2 Posted May 29, 2005 Anything from 80 - 150k's depending on how they've been treated... If the bite point is low (towards the carpet) then you may have a hydraulic leak - check the slave cylinder and fluid levels etc first...

coolrado 0 Posted May 31, 2005 this spring breaking loose seems quite common on the g60's mine went at 120k while down shifting on the motorway
Supercharged 2 Posted May 31, 2005 Yep, thats why the VR6 clutch is a good upgrade, same size but more up to the job for modified G60's
coolrado 0 Posted May 31, 2005 mine was standard when the clutch went but it had been a bit juddery for a while so i had a new one ready to go in. the new one was also a sachs clutch but it seems they have beefed up the bit that breaks now.
Henny 0 Posted June 6, 2005 ummm, according to the history I got with H-YYU, she's not had a clutch done yet and is on 160K! It's starting to get a little juddery though... :|
