craigowl 0 Posted July 13, 2005 We get ripped off because of VAG's Heath-Robinson (German version) design. What is the use of these infernal things on the roof.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 13, 2005 We get ripped off because of VAG's Heath-Robinson (German version) design. What is the use of these infernal things on the roof. They cover the roofline spot welds and seam.... The only other option is to fill them, but VW thought about panel future replacement and therefore didn't fill them.... Jim 2 Posted July 13, 2005 what about theis ripping off the inside trim that gets cracked etc....i've heard that this has no adverse effects....is that true? The only problem with that is that it gives an even bigger channel for water to accumulate, so you might get an even more super-size soaking when the water has built up after rain and you take a corner with the window open ;)
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 13, 2005 Have we forgotted what they are really for! They remove to facilitate the fitting of the attractive VW roof rack, very important as there's precious little room in the Corrado at the best of times! Tut-panel replacement! Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 13, 2005 Err, how many beers you had mate? Have you not seen the triangles on the rubber window seals mate? The roof racks tuck in under there, they don't go anywhere near the roof strips you plum  How do you think people would be able to replace the rear quarter if VW had sealed up the roof seams like A20 LEE has? Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 13, 2005 hehe is that the case, oops, silly me, i'm a plumb!  I recant my previous statement for fear it may incriminate me! Chris
