Golf Mk2 + Cossie Engine

Recommended Posts

It was on the cover of revs a few years ago. It's an awesome piece of kit.

The bloke who built it sold it and then put a cossie engine into an E36 BMW, which got on the cover of revs too.

I used to buy revs and max power alot. Until they went away from engine modding and started to only put cars in that had silly body kits and 1.1L engines!!

I think this car was featured in golf extreme magazine quite a few years ago IIRC there was also a MK1 with a rover V8 engine in it.

This one at the top wasn't the one featured in Golf Xtreme magazine as I have that particular issue, however, it is the one that was for sale on ebay a few months back. That MK1 Golf from that issue had twin-turbo's on that Rover 3.5V8, something like 450-500BHP, totally mental !

I remember that - metallic blue, with a BMW 3-series dash? I think it was actually a 4.2 iirc - the guy started out with a 3.5 but then someone offered him a 4.2 lump for about £100 so he thought "why not?!", and then decided to strap a pair of huge turbos on as well... You just know that somewhere on the M1 there was a lorry driver wondering why his artic wasn't going up hills anymore!
