iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted September 13, 2006 hi I have 2 rolling road read outs for my G60 3 years apart basically the First run was on my jabba charger and so was the second nothing was changed on the car in between the 2 runs! but the first run @ jabba was 224bhp & 204lb/ft torque straight after engine re-build the 2nd run as you may know @ Stealth was 215bhp & 182ish lb/ft torque iirc this seems quite a big drop in torque so I was wondering what part of the engines make the torque it produces and what could be affecting or contributing to the lower torque reading! Could it possibly be because of the charger which I have now just had re-built? or Is there something else? sorry to all in advance I havent got a clue so any knowlegde would be great! Thanks Alot Andy
Nick 0 Posted September 13, 2006 Was it on the same rolling road...? That might be a factor?
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted September 13, 2006 no different rollers chap but its quite a substantial difference roughly 24 lb/ft of torque
GazzaG60 0 Posted September 13, 2006 its about 10% well within roller difference tollerence.
Henny 0 Posted September 13, 2006 yup, rolling road differences, temperature differences (both ambient and engine), intercooler cooling fins could be clogged up with 3 years more road crud etc etc etc... Hell, even a dodgy batch of fuel could well knock 10% off your power....
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted September 13, 2006 ok so not too worry about it too much then is there anything that could actually be lowering the torque though henny!
Henny 0 Posted September 13, 2006 could be that you're due a service and the air filter and oil need a change? You'd be amazed at the difference simply changing a slightly mucky air filter can make to an FI car... ;)
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted September 13, 2006 service done in feb just before RR Day for new fuel filter, oil and oil filter was all done new air filter of the bmc variety just fitted dude! So not that but when she's got all new bits fitted she will be getting new oil and filter! hopefully see that torque back then do you think its nothing to worry about? GazzaG60 0 Posted September 13, 2006 lower tyre pressure will effect rr figure.
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted September 13, 2006 that could be a possibility would a worn cv do that too?
flusted 0 Posted September 13, 2006 dont think so. Stop worrying Andy
Rob_B 0 Posted September 15, 2006 i wouldnt rely on jabba sport rollers. u not concerned about the loss in bhp then?
