Ronan 0 Posted October 19, 2006 I'm being toldby an engine builder that you can use the 9a bottom end mated to the standard pg head to make a 2.0 g60, with slight modification to a breather, and the charger bracket. Has anyone heard of this before, or is it not possible? Cheers.
Henny 0 Posted October 19, 2006 think you also need a THICK head gasket else your compression will allow you to run on diesel!
catch_twotwo 0 Posted October 19, 2006 Would that make it a GDI60 then  ?
khurrado 0 Posted October 19, 2006 why not go all out and do a 2.0 16vg60 ?
Crasher 3 Posted October 19, 2006 But the pistons for a 16v are a totally different design to an 8v?
Ronan 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Crasher and henny: I won't be using standard pistons, I will be getting forged items made custom, so either looking at an 8:1, 8:5:1 or 9:1. With regards to H/G, been told I can use an ABF one. Khurrado - I don't want to do a 16vG60 as the parts seem to be too high in price, and I can do this fairly cheaply. Any more input is welcome, cheers.
