Insurance - possible at 22???

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've got my heart set on buying a 90/91 G60 but had a horrible thought that there might be an age restriction on getting insured. At 22 years old in England will I be able to be insured and does anyone know of decent brokers for young drivers?

Hope ur answers are YES YES and YES!!

Cheers, Dave (budding enthusiast)

21 - 3 years ncb and an SP30 - just sorted my renewal on a VR for £850 FC.

Search for insurance, there are quite a few threads with people quoting their insurance details.

Got my VR when I was 21.

6 points for speeding (2 SP30s) and only 2yrs NCB (at the time).

Went under the same insurance as my previous car (MX5! lol) and then at renewal, with 3yrs NCD, still 6 points and turned 22, was £1111 fully comp with Adrian Flux.

Just renewed for £950 Fully Comp.

So yeah, course it's possible!

And I live in South London, in a not too fantastic area, car is mod'd, and it's parked on the street all the time.

Got a G60 at 21 (student too), paying £850 TPFT from Chris Knott insurance. Got to get a CAT 1 for some people to even talk to you.

HIC

Adrian Flux (AF)

Liverpool Victoria (LV)

Preformance Direct

Direct Line

I wouldnt even BOTHER calling anyone else untill you have called all 5 above and get a quote from each!! THEN you call ppl like Bell direct and get a stupid quote something like twice the price than the above haha! :p

I was 20 when i got mine and i insured it with AF £1100 no probelms and ALL MODS declared. And since then i always went back to AF :)

ADMIRAL, I bought a 3 year old BMW 328i Sport when I was 22 and got insured for 1200, had no noclaims at all then either. Here's a hint put your mum as a named driver, it knocked 200 off my policy. Dont know why but it works
