JayGT 0 Posted April 17, 2007 Just got a Golf VR 288mm setup for my Corrado & need hoses. I know stealth do em (banjo fit) but are they the same as the ones sold in GSF? Also what pads are recommended? No track days or anything like that just decent pads for the road. Cheers
Supercharged 2 Posted April 17, 2007 GSF do the whole 6 line kit for the late MK3 VR6 for £40 - you may as well get that Pads - DS2500's
JayGT 0 Posted April 17, 2007 See thats what confuses me!!! Although i have Golf front brakes now, don't I get the Corrado kit? DS2500, are they Ferodo ones? they were recommended by someone else actually. Are they available from GSF as well mate?
Supercharged 2 Posted April 17, 2007 No you need the Golf kit becuase it's banjo... Yep, ferodo - GSF don't but I think C&R etc may sell them...
JayGT 0 Posted April 17, 2007 Cool, I take it I need the Golf VR pads as well...
Goldie 2 Posted April 18, 2007 take it I need the Golf VR pads as well... You do as they are considerably bigger than the standard Rado ones...

Jon_vr6 1 Posted April 18, 2007 Also do these fit straight onto the corrado then with that brakeline kit?? What the hell is a six line kit aswell?
Supercharged 2 Posted April 18, 2007 Yep, you need the 95 on kit It has 6 seperate flexi lines (2 fronts, 2 rears and 2 for the axle)
Jon_vr6 1 Posted April 18, 2007 So does that mean there are hoses for the rear brakes 2 rears?? or am i just not thinkin right!
Supercharged 2 Posted April 18, 2007 Yes 2 hoses go to the front calipers, 2 to the rear calipers and 2 go from the compensator valve around the axle
Jon_vr6 1 Posted April 25, 2007 Do these kits come with the banjo clips etc aswell??
Toad 0 Posted April 26, 2007 Do these kits come with the banjo clips etc aswell?? Standard corrado brake fittings don't have banjos, they are screw in pipes.
JayGT 0 Posted April 26, 2007 True... but Golf 288's have banjos and that is what this thread is about :)
Toad 0 Posted April 26, 2007 True... but Golf 288's have banjos and that is what this thread is about :) For some reason I thought the topic of conversation had moved toward standard calipers... Think it's just being stuck in an office by myself. I think they do come with the banjos and the washers. But I know there has been some sort of discussion about the thread type and depth. Jon_vr6 1 Posted May 4, 2007 whats this about thread type and depth then??do i need different ones than the ones that come with the hoses??
dinkus 10 Posted May 4, 2007 Banjo bolts can be picked up for a quid or so each online. They come in two different thread sizes - 1.5mm and 1mm. Generally speaking, if you have early Mk3 callipers they're 1.5mm, if you have late Mk3 or Mk4 callipers, they're 1mm.
Jon_vr6 1 Posted May 4, 2007 i think i would have a problem if i was doing a 312mm brake conversion but apparently i should be ok with the banjo bolts that come with the goodridge kit!
Mark_Storm 0 Posted July 5, 2007 I notice from your signature you've got your 288mm brakes all set up. Just bought some of these off ebay and need to get the rest of the gear to fit them. Am I right in thinking I just need new discs, pads and Golf VR6 braided hoses? Or did you have to get some extra stuff to fit them?
Supercharged 2 Posted July 5, 2007 Nope, thats all you need... If you get a set of Goodridge for a 95 on Golf VR from GSF that should give you a complete kit for the car for £40 (with CCGB discount) Just check the banjo bolts that come with the kit fit the calipers, if not go to a bike shop...
