RobyD 0 Posted November 11, 2003 Is the Mk2 steering wheel boss the same as a corrado one? (when you change for a sports steering wheel)

trendy tramp 0 Posted November 11, 2003 I had a quick release wheel on my Mk 2 Golf but the spline o the corrado column shaft was different. There are 2 different types of spline on the Mk 2 Golf, I think mine is the earlier type. tt

stevemac 0 Posted November 12, 2003 I've got a spare boss for a Scirocco - smaller splines than my '92 G60. RobyD - If you're coming to the show at Donnington Park this Sunday, I can fetch my socket set & see if it fits your 1.8 16v ?? You may have an earlier type steering column to my G60. davidwort 0 Posted November 12, 2003 a late mk 2 boss will fit a 91 corrado, in fact if you look at the steering column the late splines are simply added by an adaptor ring, so if you can remove this from your C you have the early style splines to use for an early style boss. RobyD 0 Posted November 12, 2003 Thanks people! Just seen a cheap momo wheel and boss for a 90' mk2. Fingers crossed :)
biggrim 0 Posted May 20, 2004 I'm going to be getting a momo wheel soon but there is some confusion regarding the boss. There are to part numbers listed for the VW boss' but it doesn't say which one will do which cars. Can someone with a J-plate 92 G60 (and a momo steering wheel) please check their boss and tell me if the number resembles either of the following: - MC8010 ML8014 Cheers, Graeme

Tempest 0 Posted May 21, 2004 @RobyD: Why not come around, and we'll try my Momo and boss on yours. My boss is the late (fine spilined) type, haven't got the codes here (at work, all the bosses at home). Or alternatively, I'll take the wheel with me on Sunday, if you're coming to the Midlands meet in Leicester. Tempest
doof 0 Posted June 7, 2004 davidwort, Mate do you have any idea on how to remove the toothed adaptor on the steering column to attach a boss kit???
