chrisnick333 0 Posted March 17, 2008 hi i have a corrado 1.8 16v and i am thinking of purchaseing a piper cross induction kit product code pk223 has any one put one of these on there corrado and does it make much difference the other option is a k&n panel filter dont really know what to do for best regards chris
g60karmann 0 Posted March 17, 2008 not too sure on the 16v front but keeping the original induction system and replacing the panel filter has always been my preference. VW usually do a good job on induction systems anyway and anything they do that isn't to your liking can be easily removed / modified. I have kept the original induction system on my g60 but removed the snorkel, placed a cold air feed and used a K&N panel. Makes a beautiful noise :D
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 17, 2008 i opted for original box with orignal filter, after comparing a K&N panel next to a paper filter, the paper one looked like it did a far better job of filtering, could see through the k&n for the measly difference in engine performance, i'd rather have the standard one and have better filtration i couldn't sleep at night with the k&n fitted so took it off :cuckoo:
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 17, 2008 Thought the only induction kit that would fit a 16v was the Stroeve one...
ben16v 0 Posted March 17, 2008 yup that dont fit
The_Dude 0 Posted March 17, 2008 Thought the only induction kit that would fit a 16v was the Stroeve one... yeah i think so too because of the electronic gubbins coming out the bottom, plus its over 100 notes. panel filter and snorkel removed is the best compromise imo. They give a lovely growl. Here's a pic of what the filter box looks like Basically the piper is a foam filter in a metal frame box which replaces the existing air box. Valerian 0 Posted March 18, 2008 Yes it is easy to fit. You just unclip and remove the old filter box and replace with the Piper one

Valerian 0 Posted March 18, 2008 did it make much difference in performance From what i remember....acceleration seemed quicker and smoother. I bought the Piper filter i had secondhand from this forum back then, so didn't pay a great deal for it. Don't think i would pay the price they ask for new ones though. Best and cheapest way to increase the airflow on a valver is to modify the existing air box.
