dukest 0 Posted October 26, 2008 from what i remember Kev already said that the spare doesn't fit over the 280mm rear upgrade so i'm assuming it wont fit over 288s at the front either will it? just thinking that i'll take it out and give myself more room if its pointless it being there.. Cheers John
Toad 0 Posted October 26, 2008 I will be in the same boat as you. I don't have a 5 stud space saver, so I'm not sure. But in the event of a flat front tyre you could swap a rear to the front, and put the saver on the back. *EDIT* forgot you have 280 rears, so you can ignore this. Keep a can of tyre foam with you?? Think I might roll with a fullsize rear wheel in the back with some mods to the rear carpet.
Lufbramatt 0 Posted October 26, 2008 not sure if its be any use but the part number for the steels ive got on the passat (5 stud, 6x15", ET35) is 3A0601027 Im running 288mm front brakes on the front of it and they fit fine under those wheels.
Goldie 2 Posted October 26, 2008 You can get carpets that accomodate a full size spare mate...
Toad 0 Posted October 26, 2008 You can get carpets that accomodate a full size spare mate... I've got one ;) unfortunately it appears that something shat on it, and the holow in the boot floor is less pronounced. Might try to pick up a cheap space saver and see what happens... JayGT 0 Posted October 26, 2008 You can get a spacesaver that fits fine over 288's. I got mine off ebay for a tenner. Just get one for a Passat or late Golf VR as they all had 288's as standard.
dukest 0 Posted October 26, 2008 have got a full size spare with rubber ready for long journeys but yes, makes sense that you'd be able get a golf/passat spacesaver :) cheers for the replies guys!
